My first experience with this game was from one of those pizza hut demo discs for ps1. I needed to play the whole thing after what I had played, and I saw it through with both characters. Such an underappreciated game. Great recap of the game, good first video. Thank you for the near hour of nostalgic infotainment

In all seriousness, no joke This game, holds a mirrored-facet of the kaleidoscope of my personality.

This was my first Squaresoft title, and revisiting it a few times over the years hit home to me how classic this is, imo, from a non-Final Fantasy world aspect. I still have the demo disk from which this was on, which also had the first WWF Smackdown, Legend of Dragoon, etc. I'm sort of not surprised this wasn't a moderately reviewed game, at least from what I can find around KZfaq, but in a roundabout way, it makes the game special. Plus, just simply talking about Dewprism, for those who have played it, Rod's Place theme is just pure excellence 💪 Nice work 👍

Really great video, can only imagine your harddrive after adding all these clips. For not knowing the game I didn't expect to last that long, but ended up watching and enjoying the whole thing. Good mix of history, gameplay and ulillillia.

I'ma just say... Doll Master's hand freaks me the fuck out to this day. Something about the body horror, yeah. But it was the sound that went with it. God, it's so freaky.... Also, I was about to flip out that you didn't mention Legend of Mana in your list of released games... And then I remembered that released one year before in 1999.... 9:07 Accurate recreation of that era of gaming. Totally. 10/10 for realism. Fun fact about the expensive inn, there are often coins on the ground, great for continues. (Or lbr here... selling for more cash. YOU GOTTA SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY, SON!) And can we all agree Rod is fantastic? To this day, I can't hear the word 'pinto' without thinking, "Pulsar Inferno Typhoon Omega"... Just like... Hey, I'm making chili, can you pick up some PULSAR INFERNO TYPHOON OMEGA beans for me...? Don't give me that look... Geeze. Also, I thought the health pots that fall from enemies looked like hamburgers.... just me...?? Oh, man, I loved Fancy Mel's.... Not for the platforming, really. I just LOVED the ball minigame at the end of one platform segment. And speed running the the platforms to GET MORE BALL TIME. Gotta love them shiny white balls. Try not to get smacked in the face by those heavy black balls, though.... >_> Oh look! You're talkin' 'bout balls!! ^o^ I got so good at this platform segment... No regrets... Ah, Duke... Another thing I repeat that no one gets, "I am a star... I am a star..."

Sad that there was a manga supposedly planned, never happened. These days, I'd think an animated series, anime or cartoon style, would be profitable, with some tweaks so that there's consistency instead of the weird contradictions between each story

Fairly detailed, though you did unfortunately gloss over Trap Master and Mode Master, who you do fight at least twice each (which is impressive). There's even brief exchanges that reveal all of their real names, like Karwyn for Psycho Master, iirc, Narcius for Trap Master, Mirielle for Mode Master and Ruecian for Doll Master. I swear Rue himself has a full name, but there's also the doll at the secret ending, Ruenis Mira is also possessing of some depth, even if it's pretty forgettable, since she supposedly is a badass that used to be an expert sword wielder back in the day, iirc, fighting off Mode Master.

Ok, I found this by accident when listening to some tracks on the OST of this great game, and figured I'd click this video and I have some mixed feelings. This felt quite chaotic. Sometimes you were throwing references around, sometimes you were silent to let the game dialogue play... Sometimes you went into huge detail with things, other times you glanced over things. And you did tell things out of order sometimes, which hurt the pacing. However, to be fair, this was your first video, it's still far greater than my first videos (long lost relics of the past), and looking over your channel, you make more videos, you do that more frequently than me and you have tons more subscribers, so I don't really have a right to talk here. Your heart was definitely in the right place talking about this awesome game, so I approve! Awesome job

I making this comment ever since the video brought to my attention the team or person who work threads of fate also does work for kingdom heart but now comparing the music or main theme of music of threads of fate it is the same theme for kingdom heart.

@5:15 But if you really think about it Kingdom Hearts really doesn’t have that big of a main cast excluding Disney and Final Fantasy Characters because we all know those characters. Especially the first Kingdom Hearts. There’s Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Ansem. If we add in the main cast of Final Fantasy and Disney Characters you have Donal, Goofy, Mickey, Malifacent, Oogie Boogie, Captain Hook, Ursela, Hades, Cloud, Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, Jafar, and maybe one or two more characters but that’s really it.

People really need to look up Japanese reviews of the Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy. They're not “trying" to make Lighting happen she is extremely beloved over there. After all Final Fantasy XIII-2 did get a perfect score from Dengeki and Famitsu. It's only one of 25 games to get a perfect score from Famitsu. I personally don't get the hype nor hate of the game.:-P
