I'm definitely going to add those movements to my playing! What an inspiring tutorial! Something I do a lot is substitute the V7 with III7#9. Bm11 - Db7#9 - Amaj9. When composing I'll try to fit in #IV7#9 (Bm11 - Db7#9 - Eb7#9 - Amaj13). If I'm feeling really fancy, I'll resolve that Eb7#9 to an Ebm9 and treat that Ebm9 as my new 1.

Just a little trial & error mixed with experimentation. The III7#9 - I resolution, I acquired years ago from Wikipedia, researching R&B chord substitutions.

I’m glad I found your channel. I picked up the 7 string recently and I am going to learn it tuned in B. There are not a lot of jazz guys that play this way.

Thank you very much for that. It makes sense to me to keep the instrument tuned in 4ths. Tuning it to A gives us a 5th, a 4th and a 3rd all in one tuning system. I'm not clever enough for that!! Cheers
