@@PlottingTheDownfall just demo’ed this… pretty impressed with the range of curves it can pull off. The cpu hit with oversampling is still significant. Definitely a Swiss army compressor… although I’m missing the lovely saturation I’ve been loving from the Kiive compressors. Xtressor just always sounds good, I never feel like I need another 8 compressor models

@@duncanmaclennan9624 yeah I demo'd last night, OS loses lows, and when open my PT metering becomes very laggy. It does generate 3rd order harmonics (all comps do), and the even/odd knob does add the evens in. but it is subtle.

greatest compressor ive ever used and i have everything from almost every company i compared with an LA2a using the optical compressor setting and it smoked it i could compress more and the compression was amazing then i put. this up againt my favorite 5 mix bus compressors Weiss DS1mk3, Unisum, Elysia Alpha, townhouse bus compressor,and the API 2500 im always using a combination of 2 on my mix bus for various reasons but unisum (mostly) and the weiss are the ones sometimes is all thats needed (weiss in mid side is incredible) but the Cenozoix with all its various types of compressors and its ability to change them on the fly and the ability to compress more cleanly then other comps just smoked every one here past 4db of gain reduction. with only the unisum really competing at any level and the weiss not far behind it will beat out and even crush many stand alone compressors mimicing what they do it can possibly be the only compressor you ever need and now has be debating the need for subcriptions im using this is masterpiece!

Awesome video. I will note that keeping channels linked in mastering purposes isn't necessarily something to promote exclusively. You often gain a lot more depth and width by unlinking the compressor.

Just started using a Daw and this is my first compression plugin. Looking at the comments and videos on this it seams Im quite lucky. Now all I need is a solid Clipper and Limiter.

This looks like a really nice addition for both mixing & mastering, especially with the anti aliasing. If this were multi band it very well could rival M dynamics MB and other Melda mixing/mastering plugs in my workflow which have become my main workhorses . Been looking for the ideal master bus comp and this looks promising. Will definitely give this and their EQ a demo.

You guys don't slow down. Of course this comes out right after I've finally caught up with Justin Colletti's 3 hour breakdown of which type of compressor to use, and slowly figuring out all of the analog compressors in the MEGA bundle. The only thing this thing is missing is TMT. Think maybe this would be a go to compressor for surgical needs, and then I'd still reach for the compressors like the Townhouse or Purple Audio MC77 or Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Class A or SPL Iron for character. I'm still in the process of trying to pick my perpetual 10 from the MEGA XL bundle, and there's just too many goodies.

Crazy how big of an impact the logo design has in visual appeal over Kirchhoff's backlit Times New Roman design. I'll continue to support TBT and pick this up at some point.

I wonder if it does apply these simulates compressors Saturation as well or if it is in this regard like Kirchhoff Eq? *got it, it's a single Saturation with odd even blend.

There are 24 algorithms to choose from, some of which are more transparent than others. If you're looking for analog flavor, try out the algorithm presets that look like hardware knobs. Have fun!

Charles here 🙂 Placing them sideways shrinks the width of the ideal listening position because the waveguide isn’t designed for a sideways placement. However, you can still use them like that if you don’t move around too much. They’re on their side so that the tweeters are within an acceptable angle of my ears. Multiple computer screens is great for productivity, but requires some interesting speaker placement workarounds.

There's a Refresh Rate option in the Settings menu that allows you to select a value from 30 to 60 FPS.

the concept seems to be veeery promising and interesting! has some kind of authentic/believable feel compared to hardware, analogue compressors 🙌 I feel a certain "calmness" or "effortlessness" about the release, very interesting! 👌 to me, this plugin seems to be pumping a little bit tho.. so I'll be waiting for companies like UAD and Softube to implement this concept.. 😅🤫😇 (still, I loove quite a few PluginAlliance plugins! no doubt!!)

Hi. I just bought it and I'm quite happy with it despite not knowing what Im doing.. at all :) That said, I noticed something, I try to write in my numbers and they don't stick. It just snaps back to the value I set by scrolling the wheels. Is this a glitch? It allows me to write the numbers, but It won't stick. Perhaps I need to activate something, even though that sound strange too. Thought id ask. Love the interface, huge reason why I got this compressor, feels like I could eventually understand what Im actually doing :) gg

I see myself using this in every possible scenario, just two questions: 0% Odd means is still introduce harmonics right and from there on it blends between Odd and Even, or 0% means no harmonics at all, 2nd Q is about the de-click, i assume this is a hard clipper 🤔

At 0%, it only introduce odd-order harmonics. At 100%, it only introduces even-order harmonics. At 50%, it introduces odd and even-order harmonics. De-click doesn't shave off transients in the same way as a hard clipper. Instead, it applies additional compression to super-fast transients. If you're looking for more information on this, check out page 15 of the Cenozoix user manual. There's an image that will help you visualize the processing applied.

This pretty much beat Pro C Presswerks and Track Comp but...this this thing is so so customizable at the same time...wow.....this and the 250 EQ with the Silver bullet on Masterbus thats it......on an analog mix...those three plugins...can deifinately master it

@@zouyia To put it another way, you know how an EQ plugin would show the frequency band low to high from left to right horizontally, and there’s a live histogram showing how a sound source is spread across the frequency spectrum? Yeah, that’s exactly that, except it’s sat on the left vertically and reads low to high frequencies from top to bottom. Hope this explanation helps?

please... correct the error that Kirchhoff has in protools, since when trying to open the plugin it takes approximately 2 seconds to open and this significantly affects the workflow. If they fix this it would be the perfect eq plugin, but because of this it is not yet.

defiantly a pro tools issue as it opens quickly in logic and luna , it does take a couple of seconds in Pro Tools but not enough to stop workflow its literally a couple of seconds, and the plugin is that good what a couple of seconds to a session

Some of the examples in the video were left unmatched purposefully. For example, when demonstrating that a compressor reduces the level of audio, it didn't make sense to level-match the audio.

I don't particularly like all the graphics. They often are auto-suggestive. My fave PA stuff has a retro GUI - no graphs at all. This 'thing' definitely is not my cup of tea. It just looks like it came from the iZotope factory - the company that brought us "essential" lightweight stuff that gets you nowhere. Sorry, but Plugin Alliance used to bring us groundbreaking stuff. As i'm writing this i am listening - it is like a swiss army knife: it can do everything for you, but it excells in nothing. It is nice for beginners - but it will cost as much as a second hand car

Thanks @@venericanone, but I know what ADAA is and the pros and cons of ADAA vs OS. What I didn’t know is that KZfaq was also meant to be a private echo chamber where only positive comments are acceptable. Anyway, what I was trying to articulate (and I’m sure PA are big enough to handle the comments of a random guy on KZfaq) was how weird it seemed to lead a walkthrough with the fact it uses ADAA before going into the absolute basics of how to use a compressor. Think about the average viewer retention curve. Why would PA want to focus so early on the use of ADAA? In my opinion, it’s one of three things: 1. PA is playing it up to be a much more significant USP than it is (the difference will be much less significant than other elements of the compressor design that users typically don’t have control over, such as the envelope follower), and assume, wrongly or rightly, that most of their fan base is at the peak of the dunning-Kruger curve. 2. ADAA is the lead USP, which would make me question how unremarkable the rest of the plug-in is, despite what the marketing says. 3. Most likely, it’s just a weirdly structured video that’ll have professionals skipping through and beginners unintentionally misled.
