This song hits hard. It's actually about drug addiction. My best friend and I were celebrating his birthday on April 18th, 2019 at the karaoke bar. He was singing this song that night; he died days later of a heroin overdose. After recently finding out this song is about drugs, now I understand why he chose it. RIP Mariano Díaz, mi hermano

The lead singer and the guitar player is in a band call St Asonia as of 2024. We saw them in a tour and I screamed when he said he was 3 days grace and started singing this song. I was 16 when this came out and now I'm mid 30s. Best part of the tour ❤️

My gf told me this year these songs were never about a romance they were about their abusive parents and goodlord the context makes everything hit so much harder i always wondered why or how he could manage such hatred and malice into his voice over a bad relationship. But hands down my favorite thing about this band and why its my favorite is the character growth. You can hear in each album the lyrics healing. Getting more hopeful dare i say happy. Ending with transit of venus’s unbreakable was just art. ART. We have witnessed in song form the internal struggle of an angry young man leaving behind his trauma and ascending past them into an adult. Its beauty. Pure beauty.

The great thing about three days grace is that the songs can be about different subjects depending on what you imagine, but it still stays powerful. For exemple, this song can be either about drug or alcohol addiction, but it can also be about toxic relationships. Either way, both works and it remains a powerful message. It’s pretty much the same thing concept about all of their songs and it’s really well written. Give that a great vocalist and killer sound tracks and you just created one of if not the best 2000 rock band.
