The first time I realized this was a thing was when I learned Whitney Houston "and I will always love you" was a Dolly Parton song. The two are night and day different, but it's definitely the same song. Realizing this is a thing blew my mind, and really opened up my appreciation for music in a pretty big way. Wish this version had the woman's part too though, that flip of "hey what's the actual story here?" is probably my favourite part of the song.

It's kinda weird, to me. It's like this cover encompasses all the rage, betrayal, anger, and deep hurt you have after a bad breakup. Gotye's version has a similar, but also different effect. You feel more of the sadness, the loneliness, the crying and shaking that comes with a bad breakup as well. Brilliant Contrasts of the same deep, emotional hurt.

But Adam got clean and they replaced him with another drug addict. I love him in St. Asonia. The collaboration with Sully Erna on The Hunted is a great listen.

I really like the black and white concept. The verses are like "here's what happened, bit for bit, just the facts". Then the chorus has more feeling, but still stating some facts. This is pure communication and usually is the best way to solve issues.

Honestly, my only issue is that this isn't the band I came here for when Adam was around. It seems more "pop-punk"ish than they were with Adam. But, if that's the direction they want to go and other fans are into it, I'll just find another band. Not the end of the world, and everyone can be happy
