Meme000 1 I wouldn’t say that he is better than Adam but he doesn’t deserve hate, Matt came from a place of vocal health and he didn’t know how to adapt to scream or any sort of distortion until now. Adam has very unhealthy vocals which is probably why people liked the sound but Matt is just a person trying to keep a band alive in what I would call a healthier way for him. Just listen to Adam singing any acoustic song, he can’t control his grit. With Matt though he can control it because he has been doing it in a healthier style. Adam probably at a very young age started trying to scream or shout with distortion with the wrong technique or without warmups, which are very important. That probably lead to this raspy sound he had. Adam is not the only person to make this mistake though, listen to any Skillet song and you will not hear a single clear line from John Cooper. There are bands out there though that know how to control themselves decently well. Look at Slipknot for example, they have really clear and melodic parts in their songs. So in summary I would say Matt wants to be healthy and that tiny difference in sound is why people don’t like him.

Jack's Lost World The main reason Adam cant control his grit due to his addiction towards drugs.Oxycontin is a dangerous drug.It pulled him down.And he stays sick most of time cz of that.So u cant see him performing all accoustics well.But he just can sing every songs perfectly.From hard rock to matel.He may not sound same as he sounded before cz of drugs and age.He still left his amazing albums for us.It would be a mistake if u compare matt with him.Matt is good but they r not in same level.Matt sound way different.I may say he sound healthy but I will not say he sounds good at all.No offence

Jubayer Refat well, I can see where you’re coming from and yes he did take drugs but look at people like Corey Taylor from Slipknot, he took drugs for a long time and he is fine. He took some of the worst too. Corey seems to do everything a lot better than Adam. The reason why is because Corey is using his grit the right way which can last you many years but there is no way you can survive like that for more than 40. It is impossible. Adam took a route that he thought would turn out fine and in many cases it did. But was he thinking about what he was going to do to his voice? I don’t know.

Jack's Lost World Hard rock can sound good with clean voice.But matt is different.He doesnt sounds good if compared to Adam.He is not suited for Adam songs.He should stick with his own songs

RockStar 25 Adam was the voice of three days grace Matt is an amazing singer but he shouldn’t be allowed the title of Three Days Grace instead he should’ve created a new band sure even with the same members but this is not three Days Grace there style is so different and not compatible with the actual three days grace

I don't hate Matt, he's no Adam but he's still good in his own style. But I mean... To tell people to be happy Matt's keeping TDG alive is sort of strange considering they hate him, so why would they even care about the newer music?

I agree with you. Both the vocals and the added value of Matt to the band is enormous. He also sings the songs very well .. But the sad thing is that they still compare with Adam and put him in the background.

So you're saying, chuck some random kid on the street to keep three days grace, and you'll love him cause he's keeping the band alive? Are you drunk? Without a good voice, a band will go nowhere. Adam's voice is the reason why three days grace are a thing. I am the hardest core three days grace fan, and I couldn't care less for this Matt guy who can't sing to save his life. No one will ever replace the god Gontier. Call me a adam fanboy, but there's a good reason I am.

Whenever Adam is asked if he hangs out with the band he says yeah but then only mentions the names Brad and Barry, he never mentions Neil. People have asked Neil if he has hung out with Adam and he always say says yes but the dates he gives on them talking are much farther in the past than Barry and Brad. With Adam only mentioning Barry and Brad, it suggests me that he considers them friends. With Neil saying what he says, it suggests that he only hangs out with Adam out of obligation most likely. Adam even leaves hints about something wrong about the split in his more recent songs. For example, in “Let Me Live My Life” he says “Let me live my life I can go get my knife Or I can pull out the one that you stuck in my back For my suffering, you've got nothing to gain My pain is your entertainment” this song suggests that someone really hurt him and sure you could say that maybe he’s talking about someone else other than Neil but I can assure you that it’s not likely. In an interview Adam directly refers to “Better Place” as what his departure Three Days Grace was like. The songs come off the same album, what’s the likelihood of the other song having nothing to do with Three Days Grace? It’s not likely. Three Days Grace was making money off of these videos/songs Adam wrote without his permission in professional setting, it wasn’t okay, I understand why he did it.

Also the reason Adam didn’t show compassion like Matt did is because he felt disconnected from the fans like he was singing about his feelings to a bunch of people who didn’t know what he was going through. If you can't write fresh and creative songs? Have you been sleeping under a rock for the past 5 years? Matt Walst has been making fresh and creative songs ever since he joined. It's given Three Days Grace great songs like I am Machine, I am an Outsider, Fallen Angel, Painkiller, Villain I'm not, and much much more. If you hate those songs, then I should let you know that Matt helped write some of Adam's songs like Let You Down and even some of the songs on the ToV album. So don't hate on Matt. He's good. He's awesome. And he is nearly as good as Adam is.
