THREE COMMON
DEADLIFTS AND THEIR DIFFERENCES
.
Deadlift is a compound movement, hip dominant movement, requiring hip hinging. All Deadlift work on the core and legs while working on the grip strength too.
.
Sumo Deadlift: This is one Deadlift to see your max potential. Some of the heaviest loads are lifted using a sumo stance. SDL works on the quads, inner thighs, glutes and hamstrings.
.
Conventional Deadlift: The standard regular Deadlift is a conventional Deadlift. Load in this is usually lighter than that of a SDL. This particular Deadlift may look strikingly different on each person due to their torso, leg, arm length. So the setup could be different for different people. Taller people would be more posterior chain dominant, while average height people be quad dominant.
.
Romanian Deadlift: This is one Deadlift that starts from the top. Since the weight never touches the ground, this Deadlift usually requires comparatively lighter load than a CDL and far lighter than a SDL. This works more on the posterior chain.
