I love how you described it as "musical TAPESTRY", because that's exactly what it was! Music of many different genres....no two alike. Groups, singers, were experimenting, and came up with fabulous new "sounds". Although I wasn't in to disco at all, there were a few excellent exceptions, just because of the quality and uniqueness of them. But, (only my opinion, my taste, much of it (disco) was mediocre, at best).

You have to understand Three Dog Night takes those songwriters like Paul Williams and Laura Nyro and Hoyt Axton and elevates their stuff to a new level. It's a genius how they put it all together like that. It's not just the vocals, the band had to be absolutely spot on to set that up.
