I had the best childhood growing up in so cal in the 70s. Family just had basic stuff but we were there for each other. Shows like these just symbolized the era so well. Thankful for everything.

This short lived TV series was how my 9 year old self discovered Leif Garrett ❤..I then graduated to Teen Beat and my all time favorite Tiger Beat magazine..I know this is sounds predictable but the mid to late 1970s was such an amazing time to have been a part of as a little girl..Thank you for sharing this just watching you can grasp how young both Leif ,and Vincent were during this series..I had such a crush on Leif that later I had my bedroom walls covered with his posters..Life was so different,and to a degree innocent back then that it makes me wish there was a way to Time Travel ..😊

We are the same age. I was too busy screaming for Donny Osmond at that time, but these days, any of the teen stars from the 70s take me back to that wonderful time.

I have all of Leif's albums; I'm a big fan. I'm two years older than you and three years younger than Leif. I used to buy Tiger Beat at the supermarket many times. I wanted my mother to let me grow my hair like his. Vincent really looks related to Dick van Patten from the later "Eight Is Enough." Yes I also wish "Three For The Road" had lasted much longer.

@@chriskroll4166 It wasn't one of my fave Kinks songs actually but if course I had to check it out. I like Leif's version better. :-) At the same time I saw his Japanese potato sticks commercial.

I was 11 yrs old when this show came out. I don't remember ever seeing it back then. This was such a nice show. Things may not have been perfect back then, but life was actually so much better then. I really miss those days and shows like this portraying normal life and not craziness or agenda driven garbage. This sure was a refreshing change to see. Too bad I can't go back in time because I would do it in a heartbeat.

Right. And no cell phones! Back then people actually talked to each other! If this movie were done now, Leif probably would not have come out from the crowd of people to talk to the news woman. He probably would have been staring down at a cell phone! lol

OK. I was only 10 years old. Probably why I don't remember it. Although it does seem vaguely familiar. I wasn't into Leif until a year or 2 later from Tiger Beat magazine.

Leif Garrett was my first childhood crush. I’m sure I saw this but honestly I don’t remember. It’s a shame what happened to him after all of his fame. Wish there was another outcome.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting this! This show meant a lot to me when I was a child (I lost a parent when I was 8-years-old & this was the only show that I could relate to because it regularly dealt with grief). I've been looking for episodes for 15+ years without any luck. If you have any more PLEASE SHARE THEM!! I'm dying to see The Ghost Story and The Trail of Bigfoot episodes. Or if anyone happens to know where I can find them PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Unfortunately, the whole series is not available anywhere and may never be. It's complicated. For the story of why it is tied up in limbo, go to Wikipedia and read the page on this show. The actual series was far better than this made for TV pilot movie! M. J.

@@sjpavur It's due to a dispute over ownership and distribution rights. Ownership of the series has changed hands several times and it's currently owned by the Disney company. The episodes are sitting in a vault somewhere.

I loved this show. I was in 7th grade and thought Leif Garrett was the best looking guy. I moved form Donny Osmond to Leif Garrett. Vince Van Patten is now married to Eileen Davidson of the Young and the Restless

I had a lot of favorite tv shows in the 1970's (New Zealand ) and this was one of them , Iv'e been wondering why it's seemingly impossible to see the series episodes. Leif Garrett was in a movie filmed in NZ in the mid 1980's with Cliff Robertson, called "Shaker Run ", it's on KZfaq.

Loved this show, but unfortunately it only aired from Sept - November 1975. Shame it didn't last. The 70s was my best decade. I would give anything to go back to that time. I grew up in canada and it was such a time of innocence and no worries. Today Canada is just not the same anymore, due to having a not good Prime Minister. Anyway I just miss those days so badly. And watching these types of shows, brings me some comfort in now is what a not so good world.

You requested a show called "Today's FBI" (1981) - I have to admit I never heard of it but I have checked my TV Vault download torrent site and they have 2 episodes! However, so far the seeders have not shown up. Maybe they will...or maybe they won't. So I will download those 2 Today's FBI episodes if they ever become available. Sorry but I don't find that "Friends" show anywhere. I doubt it's available.

Only a few days ago you put it here... This has happened to me on numerous other occasions. Did u find any of the episodes after this pilot? Also want to see the old Sat. morn Shazam show

Brian Ferguson yes it is joes dad from facts of life,its actor alex rocco who had real ties with whitey bulgers gang in Massachusetts in the 60s, supposedly maybe was involved in a murder hence the reason he headed west to become an actor supposedly

Lord knows why this was cancelled, it has more depth than most of the cheesy series of its time, and that's probably why, people just wanted to be entertained by frivolous, predictable nonsense, not by something that is going to challenge them

If you want to see some really excellent Leif Garrett acting then pull up the two spaghetti Westerns he appeared in with Lee Van Cleef in the 70's . Then pull up that devil horror movie he made in the 70s with his mom and his sister. It's all available on KZfaq and you can check the correct names by pulling up Leif Garrett's filmology in his Wikipedia bio. Damn fine actor . 😊

@@JamesRichards-mj9kw I just watched Peter Lundy about 2 weeks ago and yes it's a fine movie and life could hold his own up against any adult. I always felt that if life would have continued acting and not going into the music career that maybe he wouldn't have experienced all the tragedies he did. He could have been another Tom Cruise or Matt Dillon or Sean Penn.

He did some variety show with Brooke Shields (who was incredibly beautiful. She was probably around 13 or 14. She and I are same age , a few months apart) Leif out acted Brooke by far. I think it was the Leif Garrett special. I've seen it on YT (parts of it) I don't remember it on TV though. I actually thought it was her TV special, thinking she was the bigger star at the time, but it was his.

@@MarvinJudson I don't know if you are still taking requests, but there are some obscure things I am looking for. A failed pilot from 1977 called "The Cabot Connection". There was a short-lives series from 1976 called "Serpico" -- there are two episodes I have not been able to find: "Country Boy" and "Strike!". There were multiple pilot attempts based off the radio series "Johnny Dollar"; I don't think any ever leaked. And, if it exists -- I don't know if it does -- the end credits for the 1968 second attempt at a "Call to Danger" pilot (the second and third pilots are on another channel, but no end credits for the second).

It's strange that they chose a genuine Italian mobster (his career before becoming an actor) to be the father of two blonde California surfer boys! Vincent van Patton has had an interesting career. He quit acting to become an professional tennis player(ranked), then became a professional poker player, and then, with Mike Sexton, founded the World Poker Tour where he still acts as its TV announcer.
