Often overlooked, France has some very interesting watches. On the more affordable end, these three watches represent one for economical everyday use, one with a manual wind in-house movement and a chronograph.

Hey Bill, great video. Baltic are to be applauded for their honesty. Throw in nice dials and they’re the perfect entry point to our hobby. All the best, Ed

Good point, Ed. I had not thought of that, but you're right-a perfect entry point to the addiction...an inexpensive sample to begin and then ... hooked! 😉Take care, Bill

Baltic is doing great in the microbrand segment, the Pequignet is definitely my favorite of the 3.

That seems very much to be the consensus, Abdul. Take care, Bill

I work at the Pequignet boutique in Paris! Im glad that you’re talking about it because it deserves it! Great movements at great prices! Don’t hesitate to visit the store when in Paris, and let’s discuss about the great videos of our Dr!

Hi Bill. The Pequignet does look nice. Thirty six hundred for an in-house movement seems fair.

Bill, the blown up view of the Pequignet movement shows a rotor, yet it's a manual wind??? The Dodane movement shows a date window, that the dial does not have???
@localheroEd11 күн бұрын
It’s the barrel bridge not a rotor, and on the ETA I think it comes with and without date. Either that or it comes with the date but they choose not to display it dial side.

It's quite OK to question me. Keeps me honest Rog! Take care, Bill

@@Rog5446 I thought exactly the same on the Pequignet at first! On the ETA it’s my guess so I could be wrong. And it’s always ok to question in my book. If you don’t know or are unsure how are you going to know without asking?

Is Yema one of them?
@HRM.H12 күн бұрын
Yema's movements are so new, hard to recommend them without real life experience. Especially their microrotor movement worries me ALOT. The microrotor movement has a miniscule balancewheel and mainsprings in series

Despo, check out this video I did on Yema: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mZmWddiQmbPVhGw.html Take care, Bill

Is L.I.P. one of them?
@watchartsci11 күн бұрын
John, I'm not sure about Lip...I do like the Jaquet 736 they're using as a sub for their original T18, but most of their watches run on Ronda quartz or Miyota mechanical movements. Take care, Bill
