frequency sweeping for "problem frequencies" is a great way to dry out n flatten/ruin ya mix because of inversion frequencies. learn about mirror frequencies/frequency inversion to train ya ear correctly or try to result to other methods to achieve the same desired effects such as sibilance attenuation on harshness, saturation or distortion for reshaping n highlighting lows/LMF, n reverb/spacing for soothing/emphasizing mids. always better to think tonality over precision when it comes to MOST (but not all) EQ.

Those arent minute changes in EQ look at the scale he is using on fabfilter. He's working in -30Db scale so his movements look small but are actually pretty substantial. You are not using the same technique as him in the example at the end.
