I know its a old video but one word, BRILLIENT. I have been struggling with some 4ft RV (Motorhome here in UK) decals and Dred the moment it comes to applying the tape. Just tried the rolling method and it worked, i have just made a wood contraption to keep the roll in line with the decal. Thanks very much for taking the time to share, Brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

We just bought the 48 inch highway handyman roller with the pre mask attachment. Looks identical to step 3. Awesome vidro

This is great! Can you send me some up close pictures and measurements of your bracketing on how you made the application tape holder?

We no longer have this table. I got rid of a few years age when we got our new application table. I remember I used 1” square tubing and drilled a 1/2” hole and just use conduit to run through the application tape. Drill a hole through the conduit and put a bolt through to hold in place.

2 things....the trimming of the transfer tape around the edges why not buy the clear from 3M? Save you that little bit of time on each sign . 2nd I noticed you haven’t mentioned or showed any graffiti film I believe 3M calls it 1160 if I’m not mistaken but that helps us dramatically reduce replacing signs that still have plenty of life left plus it helps ALOT with removing any graffiti we can use virtually anything and scrub on it if needed I know it’s expensive and a lot of guys don’t use it but when you look at the long run it does save time and money

I've tried the clear transfer tape and I personally don't like it. I seem to have more problems with it than not, like wrinkles and such. I have used some graffiti film in the past. We don't have a machine to apply the 1160 and it gets difficult to apply by hand. I doubt if I replace less than a dozen signs from graffiti in a year. Right now it is more cost effective to just replace the signs than to sheet 1160 on all our signs.

I kind of wish I could get a share the road reflective sign made out of corroplast and zip tie it to my backpack for my night time rides

Bob, what are the best solutions for vinyl application rollers? I've looked into a few options both diy and store bought and still can't decide. I really like that yours has 3 levels and all your different tapes on there. Did you make that?

Bob, I want to install street number signs in rural and semi rural areas so 1st responders can easily find an address at night. I would like to be able to make my own signs because of the high cost and long lead time to have them made. The signs are 6" x 18". It looks like I should be able to get a small table top plotter for around $1,200. I'm not really finding a small affordable roller. Are you aware of any options? Thanks, Paul

Paul Watts Check out US Cutters web site. I was thinking about getting one for my own private use. Amazon sells US Cutters as well.

@@BobTheSignMan It is the hand squeeze roll applicator that is cost prohibitive. Looking for a cheaper solution.

Paul Watts A application roller can run into a large cost. If your doing small jobs there are some hand rollers on the market. Here is one site that has affordable hand rollers. expresssignproducts.com/167-rollers

for your second method how do you load and insert the transfer tape roll ?

The electrical conduit I use come out. I remove the nut and bolt and there is a hole on the other end and the pipe slips out allowing you to load the tape on the conduit. Always load the tape on the conduit with the end up and sticky side down.
