Respect is key. Cody seems very communicative. You respect his space and what he is telling you. My girl Lizzy is not a cuddle puss, but she loves being brushed and likes her tummy stroking. Unusual I know!

Cody has grown to be such a beautiful kitty!! He's a gorgeous baby. I can still see sweet Alvi even though it's been a long time now. Laura all grown up and beautiful too! Your right about the belly thing for sure. If I would even try to pet my cats belly I'd be at the Drs for stitches! Lol. 😅❤️🤗🙏 God bless you all

It Is so true 1 some Cats do not like cuddles so much. Often they let us know when they want some cuddles. 2 I Wish i could take my cat and hug her, but She does not like to stay in a High position between my arms, maybe because She does not feel safe in that position 3 Leda Is Always with me, controlling what i do. Every cat Is unique. Some Cats are more social than others. Hi Cody 🧡

Agree. Sometimes they just want to be close but not to be touched. I'm learning this when I blow it by petting and getting the ol' side eye.

GREAT vid. In Uli's case, he likes to be petted, but he does NOT like to cuddle (unless it's on his terms) and he does not like to be picked up. The other two love it! Thank your for sharing this important information with others who may not tune into their cat's needs.

Cats definitely will talk nonverbally. I wish more people listen. When l approach my kitties l do the slow blink. If they return it, I’ll give them a short pet. Cody is looking as handsome as usual💗!!!

Oh I think this is my favourite video of Cody!! He is adorable and his furr looks so soft and fluffy! All these close ups, when you and Laura pick him up, Cody greeting Laura in the corridor...lovely!!🥹🥹 Of course we should respect their boundaries, though it's hard to resist to their beauty and not pet them all the time!😸

For a second I thought I’d seen my IKEA Pax wardrobe packed with clothes and bed sheets. Right in the middle there is an entrance to a kitty hole where my two boys use to chill and sleep. Kitty retreat at its highest level. 😺 Oh! Not to forget: happy weekend everyone!

All very true and this is what makes them so special, that they let us into their lives. They don't have to! Their messages are subtle but the more we observe them the better our understanding. It is fascinating. They are all different, my previous cat loved to ride on my shoulder, my cat now doesn't like to be picked up really but snuggles every morning in bed, and when he gets in my lap, I have my feet up and he lays the whole length of his body on my legs rather than curling up. He has me well trained! But I wouldn't have it any other way.☺️ Cody, you have the purrfect family😺🥰❤️🇦🇺

Very true, you know what cats need and want. I had so much luck with my furbabies! My first cat was a feral mom, and she changed from hissy to loving within a few months. The was to her heart was the rescue of her weak daughter, she had only 2. As the weak girl was strong enough to drink at her milk bar, she gave me a very special look with very big eyes and i knew: i was adopted! She had only a short life because she was an incest cat with bad cancer, and her 2 girls made it only to the age of 3 years. Maya was a very loving and caring mom, her kittens always came first. She loved to sit on my lap, soaking up my body heat, later she wanted belly rubs and loved them very much. I always tried to understand her needs and wishes, and she knew it. She had to be put asleep as her kittens were 16 weeks old, her kittens made it only to the age of 3 years, their cancer got too worse. Later i had 2 male cats, both very different, first Tom. He was more an adventure cat, very playfut but also very cuddly. He loved to jump up on me and hug me, and he loved to be hold like a human baby. After him, i got a very old and big boy, and he was a truebreed lap cat. A 9 kg lap cat, a Maine Coon mixbreed, but more looking like a too big orange tabby house cat. He was with me for 6 1/2 years and reached the amazing age of 26 1/2 years. He was very healthy except for his slight arthrosis, making him move slower. He was the most affectionate cuddle monster ever, and his age never prevented him to prank me. He emptied my underwear drawer and played hide and seek with it, i had to search and collect my stuff from everywhere. One day he stole a big piece of meat and ate it all alone without any problem, 400 grams of beef. He had not much appetite for the rest of the day, a bigger evening poop and that was all. No, i never had a "normal" cat... but no regrets!

@@Alvicatchannel My secret to cats is: let them just be cats, never force them to do something. I never expected Maya to be a cuddly house cat, i thought she would always keep some distance. She wanted some warmth from me for her rear legs, the muscles there caused her some discomfort and warmth helped. So she learned that my lap was a safe place, and from there she made some steps forward on her own. She asked for a place in my bed and was happy to sleep cuddled close to me, warm and comfy. Her kittens were always with her, so i had 3 furry heating pillows. A few days later she had the idea that belly rubs could be good, and it was good that i had a very good walkman with recording function at this time. She always came on my lap at the same time, around 5 o'clock in the afternoon, this was her personal cuddle time. She was always a very quiet cat, never meowed much, but when getting belly rubs, she started to "sing" this song: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btGXedqbrcytm2w.html

Aw, Cody is always so cute. He looks just like my ginger kitty. I have a rule w/ my cats. If they jump on me, I get to cuddle them. If they don't like it, it's too bad. It's their fault for being so darn cute and cuddly. Still, they do seem to jump on me a lot when I'm sitting in my easy chair.

All 3 of these are great observations Mr. Food Provider. I've known several humans who do love their cats but who pet them very, very aggressively. And they always say that their cat loves it but when they do it in front of me it is clear that the cat does not like it. Sometimes humans are a bit slow.

What an important video to be seen....How many truths into it....Thank you so much to have made this! All the facts you have so wisely mentioned in the video create the so important chapter of "Cat social education" to be known among cat owners..We have to learn that our cuddle mood sometimes doesn't coincide with our cat mood... Great points all. I am so lucky to share my life with two cuddlebugs, but I do respect their boundaries. The better you know your cat, the more attuned you grow to his/her wishes. Cats are hunters but they are small and can be prey as well, so they prefer to keep their feet on the ground. On special occasions I am allowed to pick up my girl, but it's understood between us that she'll be released the moment she gets restive. Boy, never, and I respect that. How great Cody looks! He grows more handsome every day and he is obviously very happy where he is. It's wonderful to see him say hallo to Laura! Cats can be very affectionate indeed, to loving and caring humans who are willing to understand their needs ❤

Cats showing their bellies may not always mean they want to be pet there but it does always mean they feel safe and comfortable in your presence. Fortunately, however, it often enough is an invitation to enjoy some affection!

@@Alvicatchannel Тільки Алві нажаль уже нема.Він хворів у нього була глаукома.йому видалили око, але він помер не від цього.Він не витримав наркоз Мій котк теж схожий і йому пішов уже двадцятий рік
