More than a hundred people were hit by the wave and lifeguards had to mount a mass rescue effort.

The volcanic activities in ring of fire is known to affect indian ocean. In the indian ocean boxing day tsunami in 2004 there were also freak waves felt south africa. Now indonesia is expecting alot of volcanic activities it's sure to affect most countries in indo pacific regions

Also called a rogue wave. Unpredictable and unusually large. They have been documented in South Africa. Means it is something that happens here and not other parts of the world
