Ingredients for the fasting cabbage rolls recipe:
- 200 ml olive oil;
- 1 kg finely chopped onion;
- 1 level tablespoon of salt, 10-12 g of salt;
- 250 g grated carrot;
- 50-60 g finely chopped walnut kernel;
- 40-50 g tomato paste;
- 1-2 finely chopped Kapia peppers;
- 250 g washed and soaked rice;
- 200 ml tomato juice, + 50-100 ml water if needed;
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper;
- 6 g dried thyme;
- 1 bunch of dill;
- 1 good bunch of fresh parsley;
- 50 g cornmeal;
- leaves from one pickled cabbage for the cabbage rolls, + a few cabbage leaves to cover the cabbage rolls, and a few finely chopped leaves at the bottom of the pot;
- grape leaves as desired;
- 1 garlic head;
- 4-5 sprigs of dill;
- 100 ml olive oil for boiling;
- +/- 250 ml water, to cover the cabbage rolls;
For the tomato sauce:
- 600 ml tomato juice;
- 200 g pepper paste;
- 1 level tablespoon of salt;
- 3 g dried thyme;
- 400 ml water;
