The voice over feels like a trailer from the 90s.

This was a fantastic movie! I was turned off by the trailer thinking it would be corny like Will Smith's Aladdin, but I saw this on the day all movie tickets were $3 on 9/3/22 and I was blown away. The writing for this film and Idris Elba's story telling was so captivating. It was a beautifully told story. Definitely disserving of an award. More well written movies and characters like these will most certainly bring me back to the movies. I had seen Bullet Train earlier in the day and that was just junk; wish I could get my $3 back on that one.

*I'm going too see this in theater and if it is bad I'll just close my eyes because people who make original movies these days are taking a big risk and that has to be rewarded!!*

This could become an instant classic😄 looking forward to seeing it 🙌

By Gilgamesh's sacred puckerhole and all things holy, this is the "just plain shittiest" trailer I've seen in a long, long time. It looks really dated, like Jane Fonda dated, but seems like they were going for some kind of ironic "Tarantino" vibe. If so... FAIL! I actually saw this film last weekend, and I enjoyed it, but there is NO WAY I would go see this movie based on this insipid chamber pot spillover puddle of a trailer. Any and all who contributed to this monstrous abomination are obviously studio suits and toadies thereof who should be rightfully stripped naked, fastened to the ground, smeared with a mixture of hogfat, mealworms, and hominy bits, and then pecked to death by chickens. This is THAT bad. But really, I liked the movie. I think it will be controversial, and maybe that's one of the reasons I like it. On the other hand, it is a GORGEOUS movie to watch, it is romantic, has some nice music, and while I am a straight man, I could not fault a woman for lusting after Idris Elba. I could say critical things, but really, Mr. Elba and Tilda Swinton (she's really one of the amazing actors of our age. Mr. Elba is not far behind) would be reason enough for most people to buy a seat, and boy howdy, they do not disappoint. On top of that, I think this film is a strong contender for awards when it comes to costumes, production design, makeup, and performances. But this trailer is total shite. Doesn't do the film justice.

The love story is pretty good, but glorifying Ottoman Turkish sultans and soldiers, who as you all know slaughtered millions of Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians in multiple genocidal actions, is a no-go. Would MGM ever produce a film glorifying the leading figures of Nazi Germany?
