It will just sell more GAMEPASS subscriptions, plus every sale will go to Microsoft now that they own Activision, so they aren’t going to be hurting

Player retention should and only be organic if players are good or like the game they will play regardless so no need to force feed them sbmm. Tbh sbmm should be on lower players manipulate their experience not mine I’ve been playing since W@W I don’t need manipulation for me to continue playing just stop with the bs n give me organic feeling lobbies period

Personally im not liking it so far, movement feels clunky and the ttk feels inconsistent, sometimes people die decently quick but other times they take forever to die.

The way I look at it, I don't need this game to dethrone COD. I don't need it to be a cultural phenomenon that sweeps the charts because lets be real, its time to do that has already passed. What I DO want this game to do is nurture its existing fanbase with updates, content and all that. The Defiant team looks to be prepared to do that for at least the first year so that's all well and good. Assuming that there is no horrible deal breakers at launch and post launch, I'm a full blown D rider. I will be playing this game for at least a good while. I just wanted a game that's like CoD but isn't, and that's what I seem to be getting with this game.

I can give you specific examples of it if you would like. Roze skin… every paid weapon variant for about a month after release. This stuff has been proven repeatedly.

tbh, Activision will just look at XDefiant and be like "we doing everything correctly", because XDefiant will not be able to retain casual player, sweaty player? Sure, casual? No, because let's be real XDefiant have nothing outside of "we don't have SBMM", the entire game is a CoD clone but worse in every aspect, why would average player play XDefiant when CoD is literally free to play, and future CoDs are going to be on game pass which is so cheap that it is basically free to play and let's go back to "we don't have SBMM" part, is it really an advantage? For us, above average players it is, but biggest chunk of the player audience are average to below average skill player, below average players LOVE sbmm, average players also prefer it cos man just came back from the shift and the last thing he want is some pub stomping guy who played this game for as long as it exist to destroy him, really high skill players don't care about SBMM since they love competing, so we left with a very slim group of people, who can be characterised as "above average", players who are stronger than average player but weaker than high skilled player. Casual player will just hop in to XDefiant, he will see that there is literally nothing that protect him from sweat lord and he will drop the game instantly and go back to CoD, I know you guy s want this game to succeed, me too, but we must come down to earth, Blackcell hitting sales charts every time it's releasing, if this is not an indicator that there are plenty of people who like the game enough to further invest in it then I don't know what is, the gist is CoD is able to continuously generate more and more money and if there is something that is true in most of the cases it is high sales = satisfied customers, because people ALWAYS vote with their wallets.

There is a massive group of players who miss how older CoDs felt, and XDefiant has that feeling, with how spawns work, to the general feel of the game, mixed with some newer age stuff. I think it will hold a player base incredibly well. It won’t hold the players looking for a modern cod clone, cause it’s not, it’s cloning the older cods

I have to disagree on your take on sbmm. The reason the people who despise sbmm is due to the fact the sweatiest player on a team (PunchGoesBig) as an example, he’s an excellent player but he’s 9 times out of 10 getting lobbies with shit teammates where he has to face his skill level. Thats not a skill issue on Punch’s end because he can get high kill games with less deaths most part (SnD player). Sbmm is meant to be in ranked not pubs. Yes have lobbies switched up but if I want to leave the lobby I will choose to do that on my own not the lobby forcing me. Sbmm has stopped a sense of community.

@@driftlucent the type of people you described are very, very limited, 90%+ of the players are not like this and SBMM is tailored to satisfy largest portion of the community aka. Low skill and average players and looking at the sales of Blackcell… they are happy with current state of the game, as for SBMM should be in ranked, you couldn’t be more wrong, I play COD mobile, it has SBMM in ranked and because of that your rank means nothing unless we talking like really, really high ranks or really, really low ranks, other than that it is not depicting the skill of the player accurately, it is no longer game of skill it is now whether you can trick system to throw you a bots, if there is a place where SBMMM should be present, it is pubs, not ranked, for ranked there is completely different system.

@@PreacHDefiant the problem is, old cods are simply outdated, if multiplayer of the OG MW2 would be remastered today (nothing changed, just improved graphics) nobody gonna play it. It simply did not stand a test of time, just so you could see the picture all modded servers of OG games combines doesn’t have even 1k in terms of player base, this is how little people care about OG CoDs, sure they can say all they want, that they miss it etc. but when it comes to action, they just come back home and launch latest CoD, it maybe able to retain a small community, but it will fail to attract large audience, because larger audience do not care about old cods, they compare with current day competitors and in this department XDefiant slagging behind… a lot.
