Grabbed my SRV strat. Plugged her into a Cool Car vibe. Plugged that into a Visual Sound Route 66 - but only used the Comp side. No OD.
Then I plugged that into a Swart AST w/ a dash of verb and trem.
Holy cow, wouldn't you know it, the intro of Feels like Rain (John Hiatt song, covered beautifully by Buddy Guy in case you didn't know) just showed up under my fingers.
I love how tone can totally bring up a song you had no idea you were about to play!
What ridiculous fun this was. Wow.
So I decided to share the riff with you guys :)

Yeah, that was special. I loved that Mayer had Buddy come in and play and exposed his audience to the work of the great Buddy Guy.

It's just something I use to differentiate full songs from just riffs...

Hey MOJO. I was stoked as usual, to hear this guitar. I must say, I'm not sure if its the SRV or the amp, but I didn't like it. So what you may say, but I am forever chasing your sounds, and for the first time, I'm not feeling it. I think a black face champ or Princeton would maybe give the the guitar a fair chance? Is that the Shell pink Tele thats on the GP forum?How does the neck fit? I'm looking for a nocaster/tele type bat neck and resonance without amplification.

It fits well. The latter half isn't quite what Buddy Guy is doing, however a very nice demonstration video nonetheless.

you refer to this as a "power riff". whats the definition of "power riff"? as I had envisioned something totally different,atleast a lot more aggressive, like hendrix's intro to Freedom or a SRV thing
