@@OfficiallyMaidenlessThe DBZ sample isn't even the coolest part of T&C. The fact that the riff is a direct copy of the music from the Town and Country Surf Shop video game is pretty awesome.

@@OfficiallyMaidenless My uncle used to drum for a local band that did covers of this album about 18 to 20 years ago and I became obsessed with Thrice when i went to their shows. Highly underrated band. I found the info in web forums awhile back tho. Alot of people seem to know and absolutely love the game but dont know the song.

It's got to be said that Dustin's eventual vocal prowess wasn't obvious in the early days, but man alive Riley's drumming absolutely whipped right from the off.

Literally listening to this for the first time ever right now, and I’m getting kicked in the stomach with nostalgia despite it being the first time I’ve heard it. This band truly is something special. I’ve been around since identity crisis dropped, and to watch the evolution And growth of these four guys and what they create is just something that can’t be put into words. So thankful for this band.

I didn't even know this existed. Cool to hear the evolution of their sound. Also, this definitely sounds like CA circa 1998 haha. Who knew they'd be essential in shaping future punk to come.

I heard that Fat Mike almost signed Thrice to his label, Fat Wreck Chords, because of this EP. But once they started to incorporate more screamo elements in Identity Crisis, he had kinda lost interest. It certainly would have been interesting if they had kept the skate punk sound and went on tour with Lagwagon and NOFX.

i dont believe that for a second.. more likely it was the fact they were very very very christian and have always been vocal about it. Fat Mike would never sign a christian band.

I see that this comment is two years old, but for anyone still curious, that sound is not on the original recordings. It seems to plague every version of the song on KZfaq, but I can say I have a version of the song that does not do that. I have no idea what that sound actually is, though. Also, the original track doesn't skip around like it does at 22:10. No disrespect to STGMANG
