Thrift with me! Today I am hitting my local Goodwill store along with the grand re-opening of my favorite thrift store in Vancouver, Washington - Retails Thrift Store
My name is Laura and I am a full time vintage shop owner and Co-Host of The Recycled Life here on KZfaq. I've been a self employed for 8 years selling my vintage online, in flea markets and local vintage malls. I would have a VERY difficult time parting with either hutch. If I lived near you, I would buy one off of you in a heartbeat. They are both incredible pieces, but my heart leans a micro notch over to the hutch you just recently acquired. But honestly, I don’t think choosing between them both will be easy. Good luck.

I too would have purchased the MC hutch but I think the Danish teak you already have, has such a solid expensive look. It's larger and in line with your door frame. I was "with" you when you found that fabulous dinning room table and chairs. I feel the set matches nicely.

I have been thinking about why I like Laura and Selena more than other thrifters on You Tube, and I think it’s because you show how things can work in your house or wardrobe rather than just snatching things off shelves and saying you’re going to sell them for a profit. I enjoy the peeks into your homes and lives, how you developed your style, how you use thrifted items with photos and video, and you are always upbeat, never nasty. (Okay, a little snark is only human!) And I have been newly enlightened about buying used rather than filling landfills. Thanks, Laura, for helping a lot of us get through a hard time!

Laura, a clerk showed me how you can drape the top of pants around your neck and if the two sides touch, they'll fit. Worked like a charm. The fitting rooms are closed, so this trick is useful. I love your channel, you're my role model of enjoying things for awhile then letting them go.

Oh, good tip! I have a small measuring tape on my key chain. I measure across the bust on tops /waist on pants and if the item falls within the measurements that fit me, I buy it.

I would keep both hutches and find space in another room for one -- living room, entry way, bedroom, guest room, stairway landing. Some day it will become clear to you which you want to get rid of.

The new hutch was definitely my favorite! You have to keep it! So nice for the couple to bring the glass doors to you. It has more character than the other one. (Personally, I would keep both)

My suggestion is to keep the MidCentury Hutch, it is so much more your style, easy on the eyes. The Goodwill pillow look great, keep them until the universe provides their replacement. Keep up the great work, love you and Selena and all your furry critters 😎

I would not let go of any. The goodwill mid century is amazing. I was in awe you got the glass. It was meant for you. I would love it. The price unbelievable. Can't you keep both and find place for them. Hold on to them. I love how you changed the front of the house.

I love the smaller Hutch...it has more of the century look than the other one who's actually older...Love all your finds...that red handmade 60's red dress is goooooorgeous...i love it

I love the new hutch you found! I don't know if it holds as much as your other hutch, but if it's not a problem, I'd keep the one from Goodwill. It's amazing! I wish we had thrift stores as good as what you have near you. Your style is exactly what I love!

Love the oil painting😍what amazing scores you made. With the hutches, I'd put them side by side, sit in front of them both and then meditate, which ever one you are truly drawn to, keep. I know this may sound weird to some people but your inner self knows which one you want xx

It always amazes me at how beautiful the items you purchase magically become when they leave the store. I loved the shirts especially the white with fringe and the shoes. I prefer the mid century hutch because it has some interesting wood cutouts. I never would have picked up that piece of white pottery but it really looks great cleaned up and planted. I’ve yet to visit a goodwill or restore but it’s on my list of to do’s. I’m really enjoying your channel.

Keep the MCM one. The angles on it are amazing!. The other one probably holds more but looks a little "heavy" for the space. Maybe a real sleek MCM buffet there instead. Can you use the other Danish (?) one in another room cause it is amazing as well? Great haul! Stay safe and happy travels.

The pillows are good looking and look great there with the other decor elements and fabrics. So love your porch it is gorgeous. The pops of color and the rich paint is perfect. Love the rattan chair swing and the fringy round white pillow, so awesome. Beautiful🍃🖤🍃

My husband and I dated and married in the 1970s. He used to have the most awesome buskskin fringed jacket. I believe he bought it down in Pigeon Forge, when it was still a very small Tennessee town. Long before it was a tourist town.

Keep the pillows! Keep both hutches! But if you must get rid of one, you can never have too much storage! Remember that if one offers more room than the other. If they are the same, go with the one whose design appeals the most to you! By the way, I am really loving my Dala horse crystal that I bought from you! Very special to me! Thank you for wrapping it so well and shipping it with such care! You rock! I am now seeking colored fairy lights to put behind my crystal collection to make it even more entrancing at night!

Hi Laura...love You and Selena's video's. You did a great job on the front of your house....the colors and decor just work and it looks beautiful. Okay, I would keep both of the Hutch's. The Danish Hutch is made so well..never go out of style. The Goodwill Hutch has great character and simply lovely. Keep Them Both somehow , some way!! And keep the pillows..they look great on your bed. I don't have a fav...love all of it!

The platform shows stepped right out of the 70's ! DYNAMITE, SISTER. SO "CHARLIES ANGELS" or " Mary Tylor Moore Show". And I vote you keep the 2nd cabinet. Both super mid century vintage, I just really admire the design of the new one!

The new Goodwill hutch is much more interesting and a slightly smaller scale so I think it looks better with the rest of your decor.

Love the elephant necklace. I like the style of the new hutch more than the Danish one but I prefer the wood color of the Danish one. I like your idea of listing them both and just seeing which one sells first.

I love to thrift however shoe thrifting scares me. How do you disinfect the shoes before wearing them? Also if you can do a video how to disinfect or clean thrifted cloths, pillows, bed sheets... I would greatly appreciate it. Love your videos on your personal channel & the recycled life. You ladies are a great pair like Lucy & Ethel 😁

I use Eucalyptus essential oil after I've scrubbed with a Lysol wipe. Bugs hate the smell

I've thrifted shoes for years depending on the shoe, I try to buy gently worn shoes and I either use Clorox Wipes to disinfect them or if the shoe is nice but the insole is looking gross or rough ill just use the Clorox Wipes and change the insole and there are the occasional shoes you can just throw in the wash.

Girl leaving it up to faith may not work out. Keep the newest find. That cabinet gives and has the same vibe going w the rest of your home. I love you home and it's style. The Clark's are my Goodwill fav finds. I love the slip on style to go w jeans. Yes keep those pillows. The lil hedgehog silver necklace OMG stinking cute. You may not want to listen to me because I've let keeping take up one whole room in my home. Lol. The Corona didn't help. I couldn't have sales. I've hoarded up about 14 totes of glass peices. It's a bubble wrap in totes so I'm a neat hoarder. Hehe. Have a great day I love it all.

Lol, love you're taste, everything you pick up appeals to me, love the new hutch and was such an amazing buy I'd have to keep that due to it being such a bargain, and love the cushions on you're bed they just fit in with the vibe so amazing, love you're videos and enthusiasm ( makes me smile )and end up spending ages on KZfaq catching up on ones I've missed xxx
