Cabbage dishes are typically Portuguese pottery. My grandmother had some and I started collecting them because they reminded me of her.

The cabbage items are made by Bordallo Pinheiro of Portugal. They still sell them on their website for $23-28 each for plates and soup bowls. They have been on the market for many many years. You can sometimes find them at Marshalls.

Went to Portugal in 2009. LOVED IT! It is known for handpainted tiles (on the buildings!) And handpainted dishes. Done by generations of the same family.

Hi Selena! I am Portuguese and grew up with the cabbage dinner set. I never really liked them as a kid, but seeing them in your video makes me realize how beautiful they actually are! I have to see if my Mom still has them and possibly "borrow" them. 😉😂 You could make "Caldo Verde" which is a traditional Portuguese soup, perfect for summer. It's made with kale, pureed potatoes & chourico. Enjoy your beautiful new finds!

What a great sale! The blue and white dishes are beautiful - they would look amazing in your remodeled bathroom - small one for a bar of luxurious soap and bigger one as a tray for other items. I have a few pieces of the cabbage dishes - I mix and match them with floral and rabbit dishes on my Easter table. The bowl would be pretty with a colorful fruit salad or some yummy roasted veggies. Millie looks cute in her life jacket.

"crazing" is what the glaze crackling is called. Blue plate/dish is to die for!!! I love blue/Delft and Italian pottery. I used leather strap belts like that as bracket slings to hang my shelf :) You "Selina-ize" your candleabras LOL! :P I have a bunch of those leather engraved vintage journals, love old leather bound books, I have tons :) You song write, I write poetry, we have alot in common I have been noticing, I have been doing vintage Victorian since the 80's :) I looove Nouveau! and am starting to appreciate deco since I have been adding MCM which I love too! :0

My decor leans to the massive darker walnut woods of the Victorian era, and my daughter said she feels as if she is entering Dracula's lair in Bram Stoker's Dracula novel. The walls are done in BEHR atmospheric blue which is a darker shade with a tint of gray throughout the home except in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The Victorians wallpapered the ceilings, walls, and closets in dark shades, covered all the tables with tablecloths, covered the settee with crochet doilies,hung multiple pictures on the wall filling every square inch, filled the mantle with bits and bobs, and thick area rugs .

Its called "crazing" when lines start to appear in the glaze. Its the fine lines of aging in the glaze. Just a sign of age a lot ppl think it gives the piece character. Awesome finds! Awesome cabbage set!

Selena, I hope you bought the entire cabbage collection that she had. It’s beautiful and with such secret/English garden vibes. That tooled journal and purse are from my youth when we use to wear the the hippie bell bottoms with the braided belts, tooled leather purses and tooled clog platforms. You could buy them from the swap meets and all the psychedelic shops. So groovy…love it all!

The cabbage dishes are typical here in Portugal, you can still find them nowadays but they are not cheap , the most famous ones are from Caldas da Rainha made by the national brand Bordalo Pinheiro. They make many collections, not just cabbage, they have a collections for pretty much every vegetable...😅 😘🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

I have collected the cabbage dishes for years!!! Wayyyy back before they were popular. All of mine say "made in Portugal and I love to put pasta salad in the bowls with leaf lettuce under them. I now have a china cabinet FULL!!

What an incredible haul!! I was excited for you when you saw the cabbage dishes. Love Soft Surroundings, used to shop there when I was still working and could afford it(now retired); yes, expensive.. I found a pair of beautiful Cole Haan woven leather boots for $50 at a consignment shop in Scottsdale one year visiting a friend I met when I lived out there. Love your Wedgewood box!!

Great finds! I watch your videos as well as Laura’s but I started by watching your joint channel! Did I miss an announcement that you are not going to work together anymore? I just saw that Laura and her husband are moving to Oregon so obviously you aren’t even in the same state any longer! I really hope that you two are still good friends and nothing has come between you two except for some geographical distance!
