I am sure Titus is much happier, being married to beautiful person, such as you, no matter how much he has to do. Men don't always say it, but they do enjoy a beautiful home, as well. I love how your daughter's were so willing to help. It was so precious seeing your daughter, sitting on daddy's shoulder, to take out the bulbs. I miss my dad, we did things like that. I was the only girl, I have 3 older brothers, so I was a daddy's girl, but I lost him at 15, due to a heart attack. I loved my mama, but there is such a special connection between a dad and his daughters. ❤️❤️❤️

To help you decide on the lighting it might be helpful to cut templates out of newspapers or any paper you have and attach to the wall to see how the options look, your mirror and any potential lighting, it would help you see the scale of everything, I love your $2 light and the vanity is going to look beautiful! 🥰

It looks so beautiful! I think the wall sconces would look cool. The drop in sink looks nice. I like the accent wall idea too. Honestly, whatever you it’s going to be gorgeous. I showed my husband your bathroom and I told him I want to do our bathroom like that. We both like antiques and have several nice pieces of antique furniture. I’m lucky that I have a very handy husband and he is a good sport about my projects lol

Your family is so cute Sarah. Everyone helps 😉 I had a renovation done in my bathroom maybe a year ago. I have my moms gold frame mirror (70’s) which is the main focus in my ensuite. It’s big and rectangle. I put up two wall sconces on either side that I purchased from wayfair. They juxtapose the vintage gold frame with a modern touch. Glass globes on either end of black rods. Just love em. Prior to that I had a single fixture over a mirror. Saw what your vibe is, It’s lovely. That vanity will be gorgeous when done. 😊

I like both light ideas. My choice would be sconces on each side of the mirror. You only have one sink and that is the reason I like the sconce idea. Can't wait for the finished look.

Love the lights flanking the mirror. The sconces that you showed looked as thou they tied in nicely with the ceiling light. Hand troweling the vanity wall I think would be better do to the size of the bathroom, I actually think in a smaller size ,less is better. I love your buffet vanity, it is gonna be so pretty. I think I'd go with the one light fixture over the mirror and beadboard on the wall. I'm sure tho what ever you choose it will look wonderful!

Bathroom looks gorgeous!! You might want to consider marine seal (what is used for wooden boats) for the top of the vanity to protect the wood. Another thought is that sometimes if you go to a granite store, they have scraps available for cheap or even free (although they will charge for install and any cuts).

G'day Sarah.its faridah zaidi from Perth Western Australia. Nice vanity I must say. I reckon from the ceiling light ,the wall scones milk glass will look appropriate. Nothing beats waistcoting for the wall. It makes a nice flow from the rest of the walls in the house. This is just my opinion.

Hi Sarah !!! LOVE your vanity and as someone who has a vessel sink….you made the right choice with the drop in ! We are 2 old people and the vessel sink looks nice…but is messy ! Every time it is used, we are wiping water off the vanity. Good thing it is in the upstairs bathroom and not used much. I think the scones would be gorgeous with that oval mirror ❤️ It seems that with the oval mirror, the bar light fixture would be to high up on the wall. But maybe not ? I say go with the texture wall like you are doing…I LOVE THAT… and the room is small, so less is classier . Oh my …I am sooo excited to watch this room come together ! The two wall sconces that look very similar to your new overhead light, especially with the mirror you've purchased. And I think an accent wall would be pretty. The new vanity is looking nice.

We want to do some renovations before selling our house and we are on a shoestring budget. I came across your channel and you have helped inspire me with your thrifted/budget update!

I have a buffet I plan to use in my bathroom as well. I can't decide what kind of zinc I want either. It will be interesting to see how yours comes out. I would use the panel you showed for a backsplash, I think it would be easier to keep clean. Most of that stuff has kinda a plastic seal on it seems. I also did a room in what you are calling hand troweled. I was just trying to make it look as the old plaster used to look. I used my bare hand alot to give it more texture like the old plaster always had.. We had an old home where there was plenty of the slats & plaster. So funny when I think of how I couldn't wait until we tore it out & covered it up. But it was hanging in patches & some of the slats no longer had any plaster left & tons of different wallpaper that didn't match or wasn't there. Tearing that out & taking the debree out an upstairs window with a scoop shovel was quite a job..

I love the vanity for the sink. I would love to do something like this for my bathroom. I would love to wallpaper my bathroom. I have wainscotting and I would love to put wallpaper from the wainscotting to the ceiling I'm going to start to gather my things and then one day I will change my bathroom

A friend of mine moved into an old house that had a vanity top similar to your old one. She had the sink cut out and a new sink inserted. It looks great. So, if you sell your old one, you should tell the buyer that can be done.

CRYSTAL sconces would be gorgeous😁😁😁... they would balance everything...white breadboard would look charming too👍... so i redid old piece w vessel above, hardware out of the wall behind sink, vintage dresser mirror and sconces...I did my texture w MUD as well, but used my hands for extra texture...it was fun😁👍

I think the 2 sconces would be beautiful. A light above the mirror would compete too much with the mirror.

Get a nice picture frame and color same as your vanity. Mirror inside or some wallpaper with color. Mask and safety glasses for your daughter when she sands or paints! Be safe.

Love the vanity, but I think you should have done a vessel sink. And any light will be better than the one you have, HA!

Wow. My bathroom needs refinished, and I was thinking of heat I could use as a sink base, I love the buffet idea. However, I have a 6 ft claw foot tub, in my bathroom, and, although it is a large bathroom, I am not sure it would look right. I will have to keep pondering. I was thinking it would cost me a lot more than that...$38, though, for a sink, so that makes me happy. Your's is gorgeous. They sure made things to last, back in the day, didn't they? I am talking about the knobs.

Mine has executed my ideas of DIY over the years as well.The sconces would be so lovely but, I prefer an over-the-vanity, at the mirror light for best illumination. In my opinion the wall sconces would look better because the have the same pretty lines in them as ur new ceiling light. And the wall sconces gives a better facial light being directly in front of instead of over your face that case a shadow on your face.
