Dude I relate to this problem so much and I feel like I'm going through the same thing. I only ever feel confident when I dress up/well, but right now I don't know what clothes/style makes me look best (if that makes any sense) or good even. I feel like clothing used to help me feel so confident but now it will make or break my day. Thanks for bringing this up because I thought I was being dramatic

basic is unique in a way babes. your style can change everyday, you don't have to look a certain vibe all the time. you don't need other people's attention, you only need to know that everything that makes you you are what matters individually.

Hey❤️ I may not know you personally however I care about you deeply because I know how much you mean to Jesus Christ The King of ALL CREATION . I want to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you so much, he died for our sins so that whoever believes in him wouldn’t have to perish in hell but instead have eternal life in heaven. You need to understand that HEAVEN and HELL are 1000% REAL they aren’t imaginary , and hell is a horrible place I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. God doesn’t want you to end up there he wants you in heaven and so he is giving you a chance to accept the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ and be saved. Day by Day the world is falling apart because we are literally living in the last days of Earth there is no doubt or debate about it, Jesus Christ is coming faster then you think to bring judgement to the world and to destroy it. This really is URGENT, it’s NOT A JOKE ,Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, you can be alive one minute and gone the next, please take this opportunity to be on the side of Mercy confess your sins and wicked ways to Jesus , sincerely REPENT/turn away from them, ask for his forgiveness, and be baptized at a real bible believing church- ask him to enter your heart and to be your Lord and Savior before it is too late , truly believe in him and he WILL do it because it is his promise. It’s important that you seek the righteous and Holy path of the Most high God so that you may inherit eternal life and be spared of Hell fire. You can begin a new life in Christ and have a genuine relationship with him, please repent. Jesus changed my life and he will change yours too🥰, He is coming NOW! not SOON- when you least expect it!, therefore repent and make sure you are prepared. May the Lord be with you eternally💕🙏🏾

it's so crazy how much of our confidence is rooted in how we feel towards our own looks, whether it be through fashion, hair, or weight. although i also feel the same way, it's hard to not get caught up on those feelings and tear ourselves down. but in reality, i think we're all too harsh on ourselves. like many other people commenting, i think that your sense of style is so well-put together and unique that i sometimes think, "oh only she could think of an outfit like this or pull this off". you really are amazing so please remember to give yourself the credit you deserve.

I'm late to the party but this is such an interesting topic, honestly. We're constantly bombarded with pictures of influencers and trends, and aesthetics and vibes and it can be difficult to figure out whether you actually like something for yourself or whether you just like something on someone else, or because you just think 'this is what the cool people are wearing and I also want to be part of that crowd'. It's really easy to impulse buy stuff, and then never wear it because it looked great on someone else, and it's just not really 'our own' style. Or practical. Here's my take and how I am figuring out what I want to wear: (but I mostly wrote this to think about it myself so sorry for taking up comment space haha, its ok if no one ever reads it!!!!) Influencers have the time (and money) to build outfits and make the best, creative, flattering photos, with awesome brands, often with sponsorships (so things can be expensive). And maybe they don't have to stand on their feet all day for their work, so they can wear heels or something revealing or whatever. That's their real job, to inspire us with creative ways of looking at fashion, to share new and cool brands and ideas around trends, aesthetics, vintage or sustainability. An important thing here of course is that next to this, which I think is very valuable, it's also marketing with product placement, aiming at selling a lot of clothes to their viewers. Which is what we have to be conscious of. I try really hard nowadays to firstly not do any impulse buys, to really picture wearing something outside (to work, on free days, vacation, parties, etc), and whether I would feel like myself (and comfortable) wearing it in 'real life', specifically my own life. Which doesn't involve a lot of cool events or red carpets (or hot weather). It's not always bad to buy something just because it beautiful of course, you can also enjoy fashion as an aesthetic thing instead of it always having to be practical. Then secondly, I've been trying to really think about what suits me and what fashion builds up my identity and I what I feel myself in. For example, for me that would be early exposure to skate culture/hiphop (I'm a millennial hehe. so dickies, vans, oldschool styles of adidas and nike, streetwear), menswear (blazers, knits, academia grandpa style), but also pinks/poofy/girly, 90s/00s.. which also corresponds to how I feel day by day, sometimes I feel more feminine and chill to wear a dress (which makes me feel a bit vulnerable at times), sometimes I need a protective layer and wear looser stuff, or I feel a bit more 'boyish' that day, or I really need a balance of feminine/masculine vibes that day, etc. Figuring out what colors I feel most myself in also really helped. And don't forget you can have and mix many aesthetics, pretty much no one is just one thing. And we also constantly change, as does our style and what we have a need for (comfort, quiet or actually standing out and experimenting).

recently, Ive had too completely overhaul the way I approach exercise. My whole childhood, I was obsessed with wanting a flat stomach, felt like I couldn't wear anything because of my body type. I know it came from family - brown, immigrant families have no filter or awareness of the impact of their comments. Now I try really hard to work out because its medicine for my depression and try to remember its not about pushing myself to oblivion every time I get on the mat. I live my the notion of consistent mediocrity now, just a consistent 60% effort for my brain. I began posting my workouts on my channel, so I'd have a visual to SEE with my own eyes, that I'm getting stronger, and better at yoga/pilates and exercise isnt just about trying to be thin.

I loved hearing the story of your fashion journey, especially as another quiet Asian girl in high school who got known for her cute outfits / being the fashionable one. Fashion (especially styling hand-me-downs & thrift store finds, since I was lower income and that was the only way I could afford new clothes) definitely became part of my identity because of those years. And it’s so true that there are moments when you lose your sense of style because you lose touch with yourself, but you’ll find that joy in your style again! Like with life there’s always ups and down. Thank you for taking us along your journey

Wow dude I resonate this what you say in this video so much, from a young age I remember constantly changing outfits in order to find something that was cute or better and never feeling like I had anything to wear because my style was consistently changing which only got worse the older I became because I was influenced by other styles and so what I’m wearing can depict my mood so drastically and it leads be to have breakdowns because I don’t know what to wear or I feel like what I want to wear is too much somehow, but I really loved this video it’s nice to know that I am not the only person who has struggled with self confidence issues due to clothing, you are so beautiful and unique I wish you the best of luck

My friend was going through a moment where she hated her hair after she paid enormous amounts of money for it to get done. So then she obviously started talking about how bad it looks so don't be discouraged that you're not the only one experiencing this problem. But it made me think of the time where this girl in middle school said that her hair plays a big role in her mood. Which is literally so validdddd we look at ourselves all the time so it's easy for us to put ourselves down on our appearances. Other people might not think your style is basic/un-unique because there's a lot of unstylish people out there! So be more compassionate with yourself and try not to think what you deem is important in your life as ~stupid~ Identity is what makes us who we are so don't water yourself down or discredit your style journey. I suggest writing down 10 things you like about your style and that way you'll grow an even deeper appreciation to your identity in the fashion aspect!!! Love your content :)

I just randomly found this channel and I think that it’s really interesting to do this kind of video since most of the content creator are just trying to show the good part of their life and not that one bad part that anyone can through. dear Lindsiann I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time now and, yes, I discovered your channel because I absolutely adored your style and still do, I think it for sure is unique. But I eventually kept on watching all of your vlogs as I just really enjoy listening to the thoughts you share, your humour and storytellings. It seems you reflect a lot on yourself and your environment and even though that can sometimes lead to overthinking, I am convinced that it’s also required for self growth. You look stunning with your new red hair and whatever you wear - yet I believe it is more importantly your whole aura that makes you so special and beautiful.

I relate to this so much dude. Honestly, if I don't look good I literally don't feel good. It's horrible. Even with style stuff, I really beat down on my style and want to be unique and different. But then I see trends and stuff and follow them and feel a lil good and better. And even though I know I do it, and it's kinda bad, I still do it because of habit and I find it soothing. And all the other stuff like patriarchy, consumerism etc that affects why we care about our appearance. Ugh just ugh. But thank you for being honest and creating a safe space. Sending love Linsi xx.

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing, especially since moving to NYC recently this has been on my mind x10. I feel like I overcompensated starting in HS with fashion because I was unsatisfied as being seen as the “quiet girl” and I wanted to stand out in another way. I thought moving here would spark my confidence and creativity but it’s so much easier to feel like I fade into the background. I think if I saw you out and about I’d think, what a cool girl !

You are unique, and I think that’s why so many ppl enjoy watching your videos is because that’s what makes you an individual, different. There’s no harm in experimenting with your style or hair, the worst that’ll happen is you’ll know what u like and don’t and from there you go out of your comfort zone, maybe layering clothes or other possibilities you haven’t even considered will present themselves, it’ll take time but one day you’ll look back on these moments and know how far you’ve come. for me, confidence is not only tethered to how you look externally but how you feel internally and if you dont feel good in either aspect then maybe its good to try and take a step back so that you can regain the lost understanding of who you are and who you want to present yourself as. even if you are wearing "basic" or "copycat" outfits of other people, you are still unique in the fact that you put the outfit together and added your own touch/flair to it. the uniqueness stems from what you do with what you have, rather than what it looks like. kind of like if its a basic outfit but theyre pieces you love yk, its something that is unique to you because of how toy feel about it and what you did with it. tldr: everyones unique and you dont need to prove anything to anyone in order to show your uniqueness. how you feel right now might just be something you need to work on, but that doesnt mean that itll be a forever thing. you make things what you want them to be :) sending all the love !! your hair looks amazing and i love your style too !!

i think its totally valid to have this kinda crisis over your appearance, especially if youre walking around a place like new york, even if its not a competition, you just feel bad for not looking so nice, so its super valid to not feel good abt yourself

your desire for more and willingness to introspect is what makes you unique love. just take this vid for instance-never i have watched a youtuber address the discovery/question of self-worth via thrifting. BUT YOU DID. yes, a love for fashion is indicative of a heart that fights to keep passion and beauty alive, but you alrdy possess passion and true inner beauty in itself. truly, your vulnerability transcends what any outfit can express.

The unique style will come!! Don’t force it and just wear what you like in the meantime. Everything will be ok! The thing that stood out to me MOST in this video is how many times you said you hate your hair 😂 I feel like your style confidence has gone down ever since getting your hair done and not liking it…I think you alluded to that in this video as well. Although a style rut is frustrating for sure, I am having a spidey sense that you will feel a million percent better if you just redo your hair one more time so that you don’t hate it so much! HAIR IS KEY! ❤️❤️❤️

i relate to you so much on the style crisis. i’m born and raised in ny so that imposter- syndrome feeling walking around the city is so heavy.

I promise you so many people feel the same way. We all at some point have a hard time feeling ok with ourselves and that’s ok. It will get better. Just stay positive and remember to always treat yourself nicely💓. Last thing DO NOT ever feel bad about expressing yr feelings for a “stupid thing”. If something bothers you it’s important. If someone can’t under that it’s their problem. Take care and stay positive ♥️

Just give yourself time to figure out your style! I was always insecure about wearing unique or bold vintage pieces and now I'm 27 and don't care anymore what people think of my outfits! They don't have to wear it, just be you♥

just moved to a new and bigger city for college, and felt the same way as you did about my appearance. felt that "everyone in New York is so hot" lol bUT just in case anyone is in this situation and needs to hear (more read but yknow) this : you're unique, and your style will grow with you. you're beautiful in the way you are, be kind to yourself and you'll grow into the best version of yourself

I myself am also going through an identity crisis, so I know how you’re feeling right now. I go to a private school, so we all have to wear uniforms. Sometimes I have to look at someone again because its like “Why does she look so good and I don’t? I’m wearing the same clothes as her.” And it drives me crazy.

To be honest I have the same crisis you have. Your not alone. Sometimes I wonder if my style is actually good and just going through the city and looking at attractive people makes me question myself all the time. But remember. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. And even if you don’t have a good style you have an AMAZING PERSONALITY that makes your own style so much more unique. We love you
