I have found that I can buy most clothes new for the same price as thrift stores if I buy on clearance at the end of the season. So I’m always buying a season/year ahead. Target and Old navy always have great end of season deals!
@TracyPodz4 жыл бұрын
For example I got an extremely nice winter coat for my 3 year old brand new at Old Navy for $5 at the end of last winter, for this coming winter!

I think she tends to try to shop more ethical clothing which is why she tends to thrift.
@TracyPodz4 жыл бұрын
Shelby S I thought of that but I noticed many of the items were not ethically made that she bought from the thrift store
@shelbys27504 жыл бұрын
@@TracyPodz well, when you buy from the thrift store it has already been made and purchased so even if you buy non ethical brands you aren't directly supporting those brands by buying it brand new from them.
@TracyPodz4 жыл бұрын
Shelby S oh yea I definitely see the point there. I think it’s great to reuse clothes by thrifting.

From the time my daughter was old enough to say ‘dress’ (18 months) that is all she wanted to wear. I fell in love with Gymboree clothing, especially the soft but durable and super cute dresses. But the price?!? I was a regular at Once Upon A Child and got Gymboree dresses in mint condition for $10! My daughter had a closet full of high quality wash and wear dresses for a fraction of the cost!! Hurray for thrifting!!!

I really enjoyed this video, and would love to see their entire wardrobes for fall. I wish I could thrift more, but unfortunately the stores near me aren’t that great price wise. I often do better on clearance clothes than thrifted ones. However a thrift store near me is having a $1-2 sale day next Saturday and I’m hoping to go to that to look for fall clothes for my girls.

i am thrifting and my daughter has a 5 t and 4 t size. She is 2.5 but she is tall and skinny. I thift online. I notice a lot of pants and leggings are so wide. They dont fit her. I was lucky i got leggings at least 2 that fit her around her waist. And her legs also fit in them. Dresses and shirts i was also lucky. They had slim fitted dresses and shirts and tights. She wears them the whole winter also a jacket. I got that before we got a lockdown and a pair of next size shoes. I am happy i bought them and now she can wear them. And i dont need to stress i dont have that or that. No it is in her closet. I have two weeks of clothing always she has accidents a lot and so she has extra and we can wash and let them dry.

I don’t normally comment anything even remotely negative on your channel because other people always attack in the comments, but I am being genuine when I say that I am concerned that your boys are playing outdoors unsupervised that close to a road. Don’t roast me.
@Desert_Dreamin0244 жыл бұрын
A lot of times Dan is there helping when she shoots a sit down video and sometimes helps film but prefers to be off camera. I’m sure Elle wouldn’t risk her kids with anything unsafe, Why not send her a direct message if you’re genuinely concerned for the safety of her children?
@briannaloree6444 жыл бұрын
Catherine Koon yes, I considered a direct message, but I’m not sure she gets them all. I know she reads the comments, so I figured it would definitely be seen by her this way. I hadn’t considered Dan being there since they are separated now, but I suppose that is possible. I hope someone was with them anyways

do you have any tips for getting the “thrift store smell” out of clothes? I love thrifting but I find the smell lingers even after washing. I feel like they wash everything with harsh chemicals before they sell it or something.
@jdl08124 жыл бұрын
Lol I'm so glad you said this, I thought I was the only one that smelled that! Everyone always looks at me crazy when I say something about a thrift store smell. I use baking soda or Oxyclean and that usually does the trick. Sometimes I have to wash them two or three times for it to really get the smell out.
@elle.lindquist4 жыл бұрын
I hear you! Wash and dry it as soon as you get home and add a little baking soda to the wash. Then once it’s dry lay it out in the sun for any lingering aroma if there is any!

You're so inspiring but that is something I would never ever been able to do for my boys and still now the clothing in my house is out of control I'm Going to start Selling on Passmark SO soon And let me tell you I'm Going to have good stuff cheap like its cheapest it will let me have it Name bran items brand new I am currently working with myself 4 walking in closets very organised and neat. I am so embarrassed to talk about this I never have But It's kryptonite to me We believe is from past trauma. I have given clothes away everyone that I know Because literally I've been every size I think that a woman could be and I still have that much and I don't have very much money at all and pushing pennies together but Keep a very little aside for just myself that I save that isn't much but I'm able to do a lot with it And it's the one thing for me that I only have 1 thing for me ever in my lifetime but I still feel so selfish anyway my kids clothes I've kept in wonderful condition in my great nephews in kindergarten 1st 2nd grade are still wearing those clothes so I am so happy that they been circling around and had a lot of wear out of them

Just curious, do you look into the morality of the second hand shops you go to ? No judgment either way haha I just know you're someone who always tries to follow close to your "true north" and I was wondering how that works with thrfting stuff ? Great question. Some thrift stores are for profit but most as non profit where the workers are volunteers and all the money goes to charity! Some the workers are paid employees but all profits go to charity! It depends on the shop
