In today’s video I’m going to take you thrifting into Goodwill and Restore. I will show you some fun and interesting things I saw while thrifting as well as a small haul at the end of the video. I hope this video gives you some "Thrifting Inspiration”! :)

There are beautiful, unique and inexpensive second hand treasures just waiting for you. These items can be found at your local goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores in your area. Thrifting can be a challenge but very rewarding and worth the hunt! Some of my favorite things to thrift for are home décor items, name brand clothing, vintage items and anything unique or handmade!

When I was a kid me and my brothers would pick pecans from the pecan trees in our back yard .then go down town and sell it to a company and make a few dollars to go to fair at that time .

I gag at green bean casserole... 😣 And Went nuts when I saw the red chairs... 😍 And the blue bottles I went looloo over those. I have no idea why... 🤔 But since I was a child, I've been drawn to blue glass... Hm? 😁

What I liked the best at Goodwill was the decanter, the royal blue bottles, and the Siamese cat figurine. What I liked at the ReStore were the teapots.

LOL...My grandma made the green bean casserole, a pearl onion and cheese dish, Chex or bar mix, Cranberry mold and bought the special close to us farm turkey and stuffed it...it ended with just the bar mix because the dear woman lived to 97.5....I had her until I was 40...O am 61 and my job is all bur onions..that was only her thing and stuffing. I loved the first sugar bowl and teapot and Chinese little dish set and I am seeking a canister set similar to that so that was wonderful. I like the bean dish..lol..but many do not..just fresh crisp beans cooked el dente with bacon are wonderful too. My sis now make a wonderful brussel sprout thing with broccoli and pecans and i think craisins squash that ends a few minutes under the broiler..Love your vanity..those are the bomb!!

Hi there. Went to a yard sale that actually had some decent stuff. Got a brand new mini glue gun, was $3 got them down to $2. Been needing one for a while. Beats paying 4.70 plus shipping on amazon.

You can freeze those pecans...the squirrels got all my pecans this year...i have none & they are so expensive ..do you have a tree??

Hi Elizabeth, yes I did end up freezing a few bags of mine. My grandad had 12 pecan trees on his property that are almost 100 years old. His property was overflowing with them. 😊

I didn’t eat green bean casserole until I was in college. I was riding back to school with a friend after thanksgiving break and he invited me to eat leftovers with his folks. I though it was amazing! Due to dietary issues I can no longer eat it but for those few years, it was great

Thank you so much for watching. I've tried it a few times as an adult thinking maybe I would like it. For some reason I just can't. 😂 Up until about 3 years ago I would not eat mushrooms or tomatoes and now I love them. It's crazy how your taste can change over the years.

Hi Hannica I've watched several of your videos and enjoyed watching you thrift. I subscribed tonight. I used to love, love, love thrifting, junking, going to auctions and antique stores. I enjoyed it so much it took 4 auctions to eliminate the excess. 😮 I loved all of the things I had accumulated. Anything to do with cooking, cookbooks ( at one time I had over 800), cookware, bakeware, dishes, serving pieces and so on. I would rotate the stuff, packing it away in the attic and bringing others down. It got to be too much. I can enjoy what you do without having to find room for it in my house. You have a good thing going, keep it up! Oh and I do not like green bean casserole either. I can eat it I just choose not to. My family loves it so I make it for them.

I have seen large mirrors with wooden stands on facebook marketplace. You might want to keep looking in case you want to change your mirror to one that attaches to your vanity. Our Restore in Hickory NC had great furniture prices. We just moved to a town near Jacksonville Fl and thrift store and Restore prices here are outrageous. They got higher after Covid.

So im sitting here waiting for the commercials to finish and I'm like she better mean the vanity ! Crazy thing about the green bean casserole. I love green beans but not the casserole. I think its the mushroom soup that does me in. Love the made in Japan kitty !! Eeeeeeeee !!! Yes ! Mirror will show up later ! Use some decent paint stripper to make your job easier.

Congratulations on finding your vanity! If you want to strip the paint off the hardware instead of painting them you can use an old crockpot and enough water to cover. Cook them for a few hours and the paint will come off easy without chemicals. 🙂

I have a vintage dresser in my basement with 3 way mirror and bench. In beautiful condition!!!! But have no room for it. U can put a mirror on the wall and buy a beautiful vanity chair!!!

I've collected cat figurines since I was young. I've kept very little from my days as a minor but I still have my cat figurines and will buy them when I see them. That was a great find. I loved that wall wood storage what not from the Re-store. Will look forward to your vanity refinish.

Hi Jessica. I like green beans but have never had them casseroled - it sounds vile. I loved the covered sugar bowl rhat you were looking at at the beginning of the video - that would be my take home piece. Well done on finding the vanity at such a great price too - I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. You are lucky to have a pecan tree in your garden - they are very tasty nuts but they are also very expensive to buy over here in the UK.

Dont forget you can freeze them after shelling them..they last a long time in the freezer

I found a solid maple glass hutch at good will for my son it matches his dining table that belonged to my mom, i am going to clean it well and present it to him on Christmas, it was only 75 dollars!!!

Love your video and I make a mean green bean casserole. Everyone loves it. Love your vanity that you picked up and can't wait to see the finished product. Great price and your fingers must be sore with all those pecans. I use to pick pecans and my knees were green by the time I was thru.

I remember my mum having little white oil lamps, like the one you found, here in the UK in the 70s - I think they were quite old then.

Years ago my roommate & I threw a Thanksgiving potluck in the South. All 3 girls who signed up to bring a vegetable brought that darn green bean casserole. We just laughed.

My favorite items were the two you bought. You know I love cats. And what a steal on the vanity. So glad you got it. I thought of the same thing - just hang a mirror behind. PS Although I don’t hate green bean casserole, it’s not my favorite, so I don’t make it at home. But will take a small serving if we visit somewhere during the holidays. My family prefers green bean almandine.

I am with you with regard to the green bean casserole! I politely ate it when I first came to the States many years ago, along with marshmallows on top of mashed sweet potatoes. OMG why either vegetable should be treated so badly, I just cannot imagine! I love your "dressing table" as I would call it and eagerly await how it will look.

I love it and it was brand new, I have found some great deals on jackets at the Goodwill a leather one and two suede ones. One of the suede ones was new with tags for 139.99 and I paid 20 dollars for it.🙏🏾🤗
