WOW! I've been a Sabbath fan since I was a little kid in the 70s, became a bigger fan when I picked up guitar in the mid 80s, and covered a lot of their songs in metal bands in L.A. in the 80s. To this day I never heard such a perfect recreation of Iommi's tone. Perfect!

@@mooninitelights Are you using a real amp or a profiler? In the classic era of Sabbath Tony was using anything from Oranges, Laneys or Marshalls. He did more to pioneer the metal guitar sound than anyone. I think the next evolution in metal guitar tone was Judas Priest. JP incorporated a lot of duel soloing and higher tempo horse riding. I always felt that Sin After Sin was the album where Priest really bolted down what would become their signature sound with songs like Sinner and their cover of Joan Baez's Diamonds and Rust. Stained Class was a quantum leap into pure metal. They kept popping out great albums till Turbo. I like a few songs on Turbo but to listen to Stained Class one moment then listen to Turbo, you can hardly believe it's the same band!

@@angusorvid8840 Yes it is a real tube amp, homebuilt based on a Hiwatt OL 50w voiced to Tony's sound with a rangemaster clone in front.

Got asked to learn this song and by far, this video, is better than any of the tabs I've found online. I was trying to pick apart the song by ear when I thought "maybe someone on youtube has done this song really well that I can get tips from visually" and low and behold, here I am singing your praises on a job brilliantly well done! I can learn by watching a bit more than other ways and this video is soooooo good for this! Also that tone is amazing. I read in the comments that you built your own amp for the tone. What about the pickups? What kind are you using on the SG there? Don't tell me you hand-wired them too? lol...

Our host is playing and presenting the parts very clearly in this video. How is looking at a piece of paper with ink marks going to be any more beneficial? Your request makes no sense to me.
@avatucker64332 жыл бұрын
@@montag4516 bro this was simply a request to make this a little easier for me, a newer guitar player. I wrote this comment almost a year ago. Why you’re kinda being rude to a 16 year old makes no sense to me. Again, it was simply a request. There was no negativity in my first comment anyway so why bite my butt dude
@Marcus2808982 жыл бұрын
@@montag4516 people have different learning techniques. OP asked politely if this guy could provide tabs, and he responded. Your comment was both unnecessary and rude.
@montag45162 жыл бұрын
@Marcus 280898 The camera and fingering shown here was clear and straightforward. If someone wanted tabs of it so badly they could do the work themselves, instead of being so damn lazy about it and looking to be catered to. The host was already quite generous by playing and posting this video. Hey, Marcus, you know how to touch a nerve with someone?... It's easy, just speak the truth.

@@mooninitelights Thanks for answering because the original tunning is standard. That is an excellent tribute to the Master of Reality Tony Iommi, and it's an adaptation to play this great song in a power trio band like Black Sabbath with Ozzy era. There’s a reason why ..... Iommi dominates the players like Malsteem, GG and multiple others who can play 20X faster..... they’re missing the point. Searching for the GOLD those guys are moving from one stream to the next.... all over the place. Some people think that’s the answer, but Iommi stays put and simply digs DEEPER to find “THE GOLD”. I’d personally rather hear a ballsy, BADASS, timeless riff than 1,000 pointless notes a second. I think it’s all a matter of perception and iQ.
