Great video Jerry! Yes, the comic book conservation community Facebook group is a wealth of information and I’m glad you are part of it! I have had some moderate success leaf casting with a vacuum table. I give you huge props for inspiring me to jump in. Thank you for your knowledge 😊

Dear Jerry, thank you for showing the pulp-making process and how it takes time to match up with the interior, especially when the cover isn’t a consistent color but a mosaic of shades. And thank you for the mention! I don’t have a suction table indeed, and use sponges instead for excess liquid. And I do soak my paper in water also for extended periods, which has been shown to increase the subsequent bonding and affinity with the other paper. Thanks again, Jerry, for your skills and your contributions to the Conservation field. I’m a member of the “Facebook Conservation Community” group also and it’s an excellent group for learning, asking questions, and cooperating.

You are very welcome Peter! Appreciate your support as always my friend. You are correct that the Facebook group is full of people enjoying the hobby. Unfortunately I am late to Facebook and it is not my favorite of the social media platforms. The majority of my posts spill over from Instagram. When I do stop by I definitely enjoy seeing the posts. Stay tuned my friend and once again thank you for supporting the channel.

@@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098 you’re welcome, Jerry. I’m slowly letting go of Facebook and using it for the bare minimum these days. You really are wise to stay away from this platform.

Awesome uplisd buddy. Great work and cool info about oatmeal consistency. It doesn't hurt the pulp leaving it in the blender that ling. Thats intersting. #fullwatch #growtogether #keepitcasual

I really enjoy all of your conservation videos Jerry and have been also watching the Liberty Hill conservation shows. The subject of Pop Hollinger "repaired" books came up recently and it reminded me of a video you did where you masterfully removed a large piece of brown tape from a Mickey Mouse magazine. Could this book have been a Pop Hollinger comic?
@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098Ай бұрын
Appreciate the kind words my friend and thank you for supporting the channel. Yes I do recall that conversation regarding Pop Hollinger. However I do not think that the first appearance of Mickey Mouse crossed his desk because the book was from a larger collection from an owner who had hundreds of books that were part of a library collection. In fact the books I was lucky enough to add to the PC had library return stamps on the covers and inside of the books. Once again thank you for supporting the channel and stay tuned!

Hi Jerry I was wondering why you aren't using a sympathetic paper for the cover instead of the art stock you are showing?
@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098Ай бұрын
Thank you for commenting and supporting the channel. I have to be honest I do not know enough about it and whether it would work.

@@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098 Hi Jerry e-bay item 174307847784 is one example it is similar stock to actual cover stock, I know it is hard to believe but true. Also I am not trying to sell this but have used it for repro covers for myself. Also I can recommend a great paper for repro inner pages which I have not seen from you yet I want to thank you for sharing knowledge and would like to give you this info to further your aims.

What would you add for yellow? What kind of paper?
@jerrythejitterbugcomicbook4098Ай бұрын
Great question. I have not yet decided yet. However I do have an arsenal of different shades of paper that I will choose from. Appreciate your support as always and stay tuned.
