Thrissur Pooram - Prologue Life in Kerala is punctuated by the annual festivals dedicated to village deities. These post-harvest festivals are an occasion to break out of the monotony of daily routine. The size and importance of this festival may vary from small gathering to mega spectacle like Thrissur pooram. There are other Pooram festivals in and around the central Kerala which may stand better than Thrissur pooram in some respect. But the beauty of Thrissur pooram is in every respect Thrissur pooram stands better than the best. The Thrissur Pooram is considered to be the Mother of all Poorams, a culture highlight that towers above all other festivals .Thrissur pooram is a festival unique in its pageantry, magnitude and participation. It is not a mere temple festival in its strict sense but at the same time it is the festival of festivals of Kerala. The Thrissur Pooram, celebrated in the Malayalam month Of Medom (April-May) is a grand assembly of Gods and Goddesses in and around Thrissur. These Gods and Goddesses make their visit to the Vadakumnathan Temple premises on caparisoned elephants accompanied by grand ensembles of Chenda melam and pancha vadyam. The Ten participants of the Pooram are the Thiruvambady Bhagavathi and Paramekkavu Bhagavathi, Nethilakkavu Bhagavathi, Karamukku Bhagavathi, Ayyanthole Bhagavathi, Laloor Bhagavathi, Choorakkattukavu Bhagavathi, Chembukkavu Bhagavathi, Panamukkumpally Sastha, Kanimangalam Sastha. The processions and rituals of each of these deities follow a very strict itinerary, scheduled in such a way that the tempo of the Pooram celebrations - 36 hrs non-stop - is maintained without any loss of energy.

So you know how people in kerala is so connected music whether it is melody ,rock,heavy metal etc, thrissur pooram is festival where thousands gather .its all about rythm. Its traditional head banging music when you start to hear you will go with the rythem and will be lost in that , it's like traditional rave music to kerala without any electronic elements. Same like thrissur program there are more festival ,there is a season for festival like this

The legendary festival started by the legend king Rama Varma king of kochin.. Absolutely related with god's. Shiva's temple ground is the witness of this festival and paves way for the annual meet of 2 sister goddesses in terms of beliefs. Shiva is witnessing all these stuffs... The main thing is the accessories used in this festival is completely made for this festival..Each and every year new ones..like umbrellas and all decorative items. Fireworks are legendary.it combines both sound ,colour,and great pyrotechnics. Till 2016 if you watch the fireworks they are deafening to the ears. You will automatically close your ears because of loudness.But now it's controlled... fireworks display are happening 6 times each length of 4 to 6 mins ... The elephants are highly trained and they will undergo lots of fitness checkups before they are brought to display.they are highly treated as stars..this festival occurres on April May months of the year. Date vary according to Malayalam calender

Thrissur Pooram (Thrissur Puram) is an annual Hindu festival held in Kerala, India. It is held at the Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur every year on the Pooram day - the day when the moon rises with the Pooram star in the Malayalam Calendar month of Medam. Thrissur has got its name from the name of lord sihva. The old name of thrissur was thri sihva peroor. And later it called as thrissur. the temple you saw is called vadakkum nadhan temple. It is said that this temple was built by the bhootha ganas. And there is another temple opposit of this temple and it is for devi parvathi. The two temples are standing face to face. Thrissur pooram is the festival among these two temples. I just cant explain😘the beauty of thrissur in these comment section. Because it is lot more than that... 👌👌😍. One day you guys have to come and see this thrissur pooram iam sure you will come back to see it again. I hope you understood. My english is not that much good😜. But i hope its fine. Hi, I like to explain you about Thrissur Pooram. Thrissur is name of district in Kerala and pooram mean fastival. Or ye Kerala ka eka main fastival he jo Thrissur Vadakkunnathan Temple ( Maha Vishnu ke Mandir) ke bhare ke ground me hoja he. Is fetival me haathee (elephant) uper chhataree (Umbrella) hota usa different different colours or style ka hota or usa to gaanv (village) ke bich me competition hota he it is really amazing to see the umbrella in different different colours and styles it is called Kudamatam means 'change umbrella". As you said in video we we have Malayalam calendar in which this fastival comes on the day when the moon rises with the Pooram star in the Malayalam Calendar month of Medam mostly in the month of May but due to Covid this time this fastival was cancelled. Yes many foreigners also come to watch this. You can search more details about Thrissur Pooram because I can explain you ever think in comment section.
