I feel like Maas wrote the synopsis before she wrote the actual book, and then she never bothered to change it.

Maybe im just cynical but if a book cover mentions a love triangle in the first line its bound to be underwhelming.

Nehemia is literally the best character in the whole series, she ate up all them other girls except maybe Manon. Period

Since i finished the series, hearing about the love triangle makes me laugh, reminds me of when things were so simple for our main characters....when all the stuff in a year didn't happen to them.

“Yeah she’s a total badass killer” “the chief of the guard will protect her” wait... why the hell would she need him to protect her if she’s that much of a badass assassin?

I think Celaena could’ve been interesting if her flaws: vanity, selfishness, arrogance, idiocy, had actually been written as flaws, bc they weren’t, SJM just wrote her like that because it was cool and for the sakr of having flaws rather than so that Celaena could actually work towards understanding and correcting them

The hairs on the back of my neck actually stood up when reading about the Ridderak. I thought the author did a great job making a spooky scene.

I was mostly annoyed by how hard the author pushed Celaena into the assassin role, while never proving it in her character or actions. People walked right up to her without her ever noticing them, she never went anywhere silently and stealthily, she was always noticed and even worse wanted to be noticed. She actually got angry that she was supposed to hide her identity and that people didn't know who she was. What assassin WANTS people to recognize them? A few times she gloated about her skill, but then was hurt that people were weary of her, afraid she might kill somebody. She had too many chances to take out people she thought were bad, but only thinks about killing people because they said something that wasn't pleasant about her or looked at her wrong. I could go on, but there's no need to. Queen of assassins, she was not.The writing was definitely off. I noticed myself skipping a lot of the text because it wasn't useful and interesting, or it was annoying. Endless talk of dresses, getting dressed, I don't like this dress, I don't like that thing or this thing or whatever. Why did an assassin need help getting dressed every time? I felt a few parts were contrived to the point I started getting angry and talking at the book. Example: Celaena begins to think Nehemia is the one killing champions. This is absurd because she didn't have any real motive. If she were to kill people, it would have been the king and his noblemen, not some thieves and killers that were there for some random year long tournament in order to be the king's assassin, which never made sense either.It was an interesting story, and I could definitely see why people like it, but I had to ignore a lot of text in order to be happy with it. My mind easily recognizes most faults, and I can ignore a few small ones here and there, but every other page I was disconnected with a character (usually the main character), the plot, or thrown by the disconcerting writing. The one thing that really crushed me was that I was really hoping to see a badass main character that wasn't overpowered or didn't feel fake. Almost every MC in a book is nice but weak, nice but invincible, or a wannabe badass whose power doesn't matter cause I just want to rewrite their whole character and pay someone to have a new book made with my corrections just for me. I feel bad ranting, but I could easily write a couple pages to go through how many things were wrong, you mentioned a lot of things I didn't want to add because my comment is already overly long. If only I were paid to review books and fix errors before they were published, except that this author would be livid that I highlighted half her book in red.

I read the first book, and I really liked Dorian and Nehemia, but I couldn’t stand Celaena. I hated reading from her perspective, she was vain, and all she thought about was boys. She didn’t seem like an assassin, plus I knew from day one it was Cain. It was not subtle at all.

I can understand why you don't like it and I appreciate the way you explain it, and even though I am a hardcore Sarah J. Maas fan, I didn't enjoy this book either, and feel like the story starts in the 2nd book. I loved all of her other books and the characters,and the ToG series in general, but I strongly agree with most of the things you said in this review, and I also love the way you discussed it without insulting or offending the author or the people who liked it, but just stated your own opinion.

I hated the series for a loooot of reasons but what bothered me a lot was that it suddenly changed genres. YA doesn't show graphic, violent sex. Chaol and Celaena actually have a sex scene in the series and it's so typical for YA - asking for consent, making out, fade to black. And suddenly Rowan turns up and is so god damn annoying and all of a sudden you have super graphic, animalistic, mountain shaking sex for pages. That's not YA! That's NA! It bothered me so so much

Y'all in the comments need to chill with these hate comments praising Sarah J Maas like she's the next Arthur Conan Doyle or something... All YA novelists need to start understanding cliche tropes and cliched characters won't cut it. The only reason they cut it in the first place is that these boring ass love triangles and "strong female characters" are what's trending. Trends don't last forever henceforth this boring mediocre writing won't last forever because that's what it is. A trend. Look at world famous authors like Shakespeare and Jane Austen. People remember them because what they wrote was real, raw and powerful and people remember them for their originality. What they wrote was from the heart, not because it's what was "in demand" or "trending". So sad truth is that this type of cliched and lazy writing will not be remembered or valued by society because of its mind numbing unoriginality. Now if you liked the book, cool good for you. But no need to be rude and act like people can't form their own opinions. My point is that writers don't feel genuine anymore, because often times these cliches a boring character tropes come from authors desperate to make a dime who are more interested in following trends that appeal to the majority of boring and half wit teenagers who can't understand real literature rather than writing real, raw content.

I’m behind the times just reading it now but I gotta say it’s incredibly underwhelming. The assassin that’s more like a stereotype high school cheerleader obsessed with popularity and her looks, her constant complaining about the weather, the pretty clothes, flirting with her captors from the get-go, the world that fears her yet gives her essentially free reign....need I go on?? Ugh!! If I wasn’t waiting for another book to be delivered I would quit this one entirely and I’m only 3/4 through it. Maybe it’s because I’m raising a daughter myself and I’m too old for this genre but I’m dying for a STRONG female character that isn’t a ditz!!

In the other books, the secondary Manon has more depth/growth than the first our main character in any version on the book. Would legit read and enjoy the books more if there had been more Manon the Celeana

I'd like to read something else than the straightest romances ever, whose only turns are the corners of the love triangle from time to time. 3. I got characters I already love, and quite often they are not OOC. And if they are, see my first point. 4. Crazy AUs or UAs! Where do you find a retired assassin hitting up a barista who's desperately trying to become the greatest villain ever? 5. Some 15yo virgins write better smut than those best-selling adults. Just my coping method.

I do agree that it is a slow book, however it isn't meant to be read as a standalone; it is the opening book to a very complex series. Without this first book as an opener, there is no connection to Celaena being hidden for 10 years as an assassin, and no explanation for Aelin to learn about the wyrdstones and wyrdmarks. As much as it isn't a great standalone book, it is an ESSENTIAL part of the bigger story, which is what a lot of people don't understand. I'm all for people having their literary preferences, and not liking stories. I'm in no way saying "tHesE aRE aLl thE rEaSOns YOu sHoULd liKe tHe STorY," however I don't believe it is right to judge a book as a standalone when it is part of a much larger and MUCH more complex storyline.

I think book 2 has a lot more of the action that you were expecting in the first one. As someone who as read all 8 books in the series the first is definitely the lightest actionwise.

I love this book series so much, but I love Heir of Fire on because I love Aelin more than I love Celaena, if that makes sense. (Also Manon is QUEEN and I love the 13)

Omg FINALLY someone else that doesn't like this book. Like you said, I didn't like Celaena, felt she didn't personify an assassin at all. I don't mind the idea of a girly assassin who likes dressing up, but she still needs to BE an assassin, and Celaena just wasn't (not in this book anyways, I can't speak for the sequels because I have no interest in reading them after this one). People sneak up on her all the time, she's not especially sneaky or very clever. She spends more time thinking about boys or dresses or how pretty she is, when I feel like a real assassin would at least always be keeping tabs on everyone around her in some capacity. She's not very attentive at all. Celaena just comes across as a 21st century teenager plopped into this world, and then SJM pointed to her and said "you're an assassin now". I don't buy it. Moreover, I found the romance incredibly weak. This wouldn't have been so bad when it comes to Dorian because *SPOILERS* it's very clear he's just the romantic false lead and that Chaol was set to be the true love interest in later sequels. But it's just handled so clumsily and shallowly. Both dudes, despite knowing how dangerous she's supposed to be, are pretty much INSTANTLY taken with her and have a crush on her within... what? 3 chapters? The whole "romantic false lead" ruse doesn't work when I can PLAINLY tell he's not the real romantic lead, and the whole "slow burn" thing falls flat when the dude falls for the protag in like 5 seconds. I think this whole scenario is more frustrating to me because my favourite fictional romance of all time has a similar "romantic false lead prince and slow burn warrior friend" dynamic except it's done 10000x better and more believably. I just... I think I was really disappointed by this book. The plot had no twists, the protag had this over inflated ego and didn't suit her reputation or profession, the romance was weak and somehow managed to turn an attempt at slow burn into instalove. Overall I just found it very lackluster. I was very surprised when I discovered booktube, and found out that it was extremely popular and well-liked. Can't say I really understand the hype, but to each their own. P.S. The people getting nasty in this comment section need to chill tf out. Jordan didn't attack anyone for liking these books, and she made it perfectly clear her stance on it was negative in the title. If you're going to get THIS heated about a negative opinion, you really should have never watched the video in the first place. You knew what you were getting into, now stop it with the personal attacks.

I just thought that Celeana was pretty much the worst assassin in the world by how stupidly careless her actions are and her near total lack of emotional control for her fellow competitors, friends and love interests. Mediocre writing at best.

That blurb is actually different than the one I have. Maybe mine was a later edition, but it does not mention a love triangle.

Felt like a 12 year old girly girl wrote it who dreamed of being the extremely pretty popular girl all the boys fell over, but also add some “mystery” and “I’m so powerful but pretend to be humble” Basically all kinds of different YA stories smushed together. The writing was extremely hard to read without eye rolls and sooo many little girl style comments.

The best thing about this series is that it completely changed. Like, a storm of plot twist. In the end, we laugh about how innocent we were in the first 2 books.

I agree on everything. throne of glass was a huge disappointment. and it's sad cause it has so much potential. my biggest problems with it was the boring, predictable plot and celeana. it was very hard for me to believe that she was the most notorious assassin in that world. if the most notorious assassin eats candy like a kid, plays with puppies and reads books instead of training then less notorious assassins are saints or something. I was annoyed how her being an assassin was her most commonly mentioned characteristic yet she never really killed anyone, only said she would. also, am I the only one kinda bothered by how easy the competition was?? or that they were not allowed to kill one another?? that would have made the story much darker and interesting

Re the dialogue: I felt like there was this clash between the author's attempt to use formal/old-fashioned language as per the usual fantasy/kingdom tropes, that just felt really out of place coming out of the characters' mouths since they'd described within such 'modern' narration. I also didn't detect any distinct voices in the characters - they all sounded the same.

I found it kinda funny when you said "she'd hate to brake a nail" because in queen of shadows she said "you won't find me crying over a broken nail" (no shade just found it funny)

Three years later lol... totally agree. The story promised a cool making of the assassin story and didn’t deliver. I don’t mind a love story in my action book but I found all the main characters kind of tedious and the pacing really bad. I also had the same problems with her characters. They told us how amazing she was and then... no. It took me forever to get through it. I’m not sure how I feel about “well it’s the first book the others get better!” I mean not all first books are amazing but they still have to plant some seeds that keep people interested. This put me off all her books ever. Don’t tell me the next six books are great when I can’t get through the first one. A way to each their own but in just couldn’t get into it.

I feel like the 1st book is definitely very flawed but it explains a lot of the series and is a good opener. It's not the worst book in the series (the 2nd and 6th books are my least favorites) but I can understand why Celaena is seen as a Mary Sue. Maas definitely fixes this in later books

Celaena is potentially the most irritating main character I've ever read. To the people defending her vanity: this girl was imprisoned for however many years, is starving, mentally abused & physically exhausted and when she is standing infront of a few men she seems overly concerned with her appearance... Like upset because her hair is dirty and she's too skinny. I can't even complain about this character, I dislike her so much.

How hard is it to make an assassin extremely cold, manipulative, cruel, etc.? Assassin/super soldier characters have so much potential to be engaging and fascinating anti-heroes. I want my debut series as an author to be about a super soldier rebelling against the government that reared her to be an assassin since childhood, and honestly it's nice to know for sure that I can nail that kind of character better than Sarah

Yeah, I wasn't very keen on this one, either. Luckily, Nevernight by Jay Kristoff has the same base plot of TOG, but it's executed 10X better, with an assassin MC who could rip out Celaena's spine before the other girl would even have time to blink--seriously, Mia is awesome, and super dense, intricate worldbuilding. I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone, provided they're not squeamish.

Please, don't anyone base your opinions on the first book. I promise you, the series gets a whole lot better. It changes so much and it turns into something so unexpected and beautiful and incredible.

Sarah J Maas does not know how to write action. When she does write it like in her future books, it's so hard to understand what is going on and you just wait for the battle to end. If you are interested in a better version of this book, read Poison Study

Omg FINALLY a review of Throne of glass I can relate too. To be honest I hated the book and I was shocked to find out that it's a series with multiple other very popular books. I really had to force myself to read it until the end. I don't like the protagonist too, to me she just seemed like a spoiled brat with her 18 years, obsession with cute princess dresses and her very childish dialogues. She REALLY DIDN'T seem like an assassin who had gone through hell and apart from a few scenes her fighting skill wasn't that badass either. I mean she should be the greatest, strongest assassin that everyone knew and feared but her personality really didn't match with that. I really didn't like her. But the worst thing is the filler content. There is SO MUCH filler content in this book, I was literally upset reading it. There were whole chapters that didn't serve ANY purpose for the plot, just more unromantic romance where nothing happened or stupid descriptions of dreams that were completely unnecessary. I was so upset reading those pointless chapters. It showed so much, that the author knew about the start and the end of the story, but not the middle. There were way too much filler, especially when the climax was close. Ugh, so annoying. And the writing... At the beginning of the book it was quite good. But while the story progressed and especially in the filler content in the middle the writing really got worse. The writing in the end was good again, even if there was no great plot twist and the story was really predictable and the climax was just... meh. I mean it's common that characters are at their worse when the climax comes, but the usually somehow manage to grow stronger. I didn't get that feeling with the protagonist at all. She was just weak and the way Chaol or Dorian (I forgot who it was because I was just ANNOYED and UPSET and BORED) cheered her up was just pathetic. Again, even the writing showed so much, that the author really just outlined the beginning and the ending well. Everything in between was shit. I don't understand how this series got so popular. The book really is one of the worse I've read in a long time. It just SUCKS. Sorry for the negativity. But FINALLY I found someone who shares my opinion on this book, thank you!

Bless this video. Actual human words cannot describe how accurately you addressed all the points I found problematic in this book. Whether it be Celaena being irredeemably unlikable, or everyone claiming she’s the best assassin in the world while *never showing her being a good fighter*, your review perfectly summed up everything bad about Throne of Glass.

I read Throne of Glass in 2015 and thought it was great. However, as I continued to become more experienced and played into other genres and YA series, I realized ToG was much less mature. It was cliche, as I know now. Also, I recommend any of Leigh Bardugo’s books because the plot twists are everything, and the detail is so enthralling! Six of Crows was amazing and Crooked Kingdom completely took my breath away!

My big issue with ToG (not the rest of the books) was that SJM told us from the beginning that Celaena was the best assassin in Erilea, instead of showing us. We never had a scene of her proving her abilities as an assassin before her time in Endovier! They fix it by CoM and the story is great from there, but she really messed up her character in ToG!

Sigh, an assassin who's body count is exactly zero; she doesn't kill a single person. Anyone describing this book as 'epic' I don't think knows what epic means.

"it felt very young" tbh the older I've gotten as the series continued releasing, the more I've had to admit the flaws that I didn't like (the long, dull periods between events, Cain being the most obvious option for bbeg ever) and I think if I read this for the first time now, I'd find it really boring and cringy. I read it in high school and I was so taken by the characters and the opportunity to escape to another world. At this point, it's like nostalgia, I can't dislike the book because it got me so excited and into writing more often, which I probably wouldn't have done if I hadn't read it

I enjoyed Throne of Glass (have VERY up and down feelings about the series as a whole) but YES I was also so angry when Cain was the evil one! It was so painfully obvious!

The first thing that made me see Celaena’s Mary Sue side was her vast knowledge of history. It seemed to be a strange skill for an assassin, especially one that has been in a death camp! The second thing, which is the one that solidified her Mary Sue-ness was her perfect ability to play piano! Again, she has been in a death camp for a year and had been trained by assassins since age 10! She hasn’t touched a piano in YEARS, and yet she is able to play it perfectly!

I feel like she (sjm) should’ve released The Assassin’s blade as the first book, instead of a prequel so people could’ve read how Celaena was as an assassin and how she got up to the throne of glass point. I read it prequel first which made the throne of glass way more enjoyable. I recommend reading it that way because it explains and shows a lot and makes it better overall.

It gets better when Dorian meets Manon and Celaena meets Rowan Edit: And Chaol meets Yrene. Can't believe I forgot these two. They are so cute and probably the fastest acting couples

I just finished reading it and honestly I liked it. I liked the storyline but I didn’t really SJM writing. It seemed a little strange to me. For example I don’t understand how she easily broke up with Dorian and didn’t feel any pain or regret when a few pages ago she seemed to care and like him so much. I’m not sure how to explain it. Also in my version of the book at the end there was the 1st chapters of and so she had to kill for the king and she couldn’t do it. She felt bad for them and it kinda felt strange to me because she’s supposed to be an assassin and they’re supposed to kill. But I’ll still read the rest of the series because I’m interested what’s going to happen.

I totally agree with what you said at 11:32. The deal with Celeana is that her duality was unbalanced. A strong female character can be written in such a way that what is considered part of the feminine spectrum ( interest in clothes/ornaments, gracefulness, feelings, vulnerability, etc) and what is taken for badassery ( authority, power, wits, fighting skills, etc ) are conciliated within their life just fine; the problem is that when the character shows way too much interest and focus on the skin-deep aspects by comparison to the more serious and urgent matters, they do pass for shallow... which is a big issue when writing female characters because it perpetuates the notion that femininity = bad.

Like many others I hate cliche love stories like this. I gave it a chance and continued reading. AND I WILL TELL YOU THIS SERIES TURNS COMPLETELY AROUND. As the story continues you realize that everything written in the first book was for a reason. Please please please continue reading the series even if you were put off by the first book. I have cried many times over during my time reading this series. By the time I finished the last book I completely forgot I was reading the same series.

The issue I have with the review. 1. Yea her writing is young, Sarah was 16 when she wrote the book 2. The issue with Celeana being too "girly" or prim and proper is due to a background that you dont know yet because that plot hasnt dropped. Out of thr whole series this ONE did fall a little shorter but go through and read the rest of it and I think you will be really surprised at how much her writing style grows. The 1st book is barely the tip of the iceberg in a much bigger plot line that ja developed later

As a person who often promotes this series, I promote each book knowing what I know about the WHOLE so that's the feedback I give and not what's in that book individually- honestly my bad. I just get so excited for it. Her first book is a bad take on who they are as people. They change drastically when all the trials, loss, and identity crisis' they all go through. Who you see in this book is not who they are at the end and you get to see that growth through series. You hate them here but could love them later. I admit her writing style in this specific book is not as developed as her more recent releases in the series. When my sister pushed this book on me I instantly didn't like it because of the same thing; I felt it was a love triangle romance and I only like that in my Korean Dramas. I do agree that the "romance" between them wasn't special, thats because it wasn't. The SERIES is action first, romance second. The first book was just the first layer of the onion. I've often heard people say they had to force themselves through the first two books but after that they were hooked. I honestly was SHOOK after Assassins' Blade. I felt the book also was a bit Dark with the Tyrant King, enslaved peoples, and even the plotting and betrayal in the Court (govt)". I believe Sarah was playing the Long Game and honestly it works out for her. I hope this bad first book didn't deter you from at least tryin to follow the series. Okay. Well, first of all: Celaena Sardothien never chose to be an assassin. She has been abused, tortured, her family slaughtered. Now, being an assassin has NEVER defined who she is. Shes sassy and sarcastic. The reason I loved this series more than any other series I have ever read is because SHE FEELS REAL. A lot of authors make their female character (especially if they're a badass character) hate all things "girly". Not Celaena. She likes chocolate and dresses and make up. But she also likes her knives and swords. She is an EXTREMELY well-rounded character. I actually never read the synopsis before I opened the book. And yes, the synopsis is eh. But if you actually took the time to read not only Throne of Glass, but also Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and Kingdom of Ash... Sarah's writing becomes INFINITELY better. Throne of Glass was her DEBUT novel. Of course it isn't gonna be 110% perfect. But instead of posting why you "hated the book" and whatnot, actually read the other books As for me, this series actually saved my life. I was in deep depression, and then I saw this book on the shelf of my local library. If I hadn't found that book, I wouldn't be here writing this. Not only that, but Sarah has become quite a role model when it comes to my own writing.

You really should read the whole series cause this is my second favorite series I’ve read. First being lord of the rings. I think Sarah j Maas is a very one of a kind. The characters grow so much through out the series. Especially Dorian and celeana .. I think sometimes you should not judge the 1st book in the series cause really how can you fit all of these things in one book. I hope that you read the whole series cause characters can’t grow in one book. I think you will enjoy it when the story progresses in the next books.

Im going to have to respectfully disagree. This series is my absolute favorite. One of the many reasons why is the character development/arcs and also I love the relationships (not just the love ones). (I respect everyone's opinions though, dont come at me)

the only love triangle I’ve been able to enjoy is in the Cruel prince in the Folk of the Air series because it added to the story line whereas the love triangle in this book is so generic. there’s nothing important abt it and if you got rid of it the plot line wouldn’t change, meaning the love triangle in Throne of Glass is pointless.

Granted I haven't read enough of the book to give it a fair chance. Does one chapter count? Lol I just found the main character to be an utterly annoying spoiled brat. Had I known it was a love triangle I wish I didn't buy the entire series!

I read the first novel and I can agree with you with the majority of the things you've said in this video. I don't understand Celaena's purpose as an Assassin because it felt like a title that she carried around with her, that declared her to be seen as a badass and dangerous. And personally, her occupation as an Assassin could signify other things than the obvious. Assassins originally came from the Middle East and I would have liked to see a twist upon the concept, when the author had decided that Assassins are apart of her world. Celaena's values as an assassin and as a person shift around a lot throughout the novel at a very quick pace, that it makes you think that the author suddenly decided Celaena needs to care about others, just after cursing at them for imprisoning her. Just there and then, she needed to be the hero because you know, plot must go on. I can't give any credit to Celaena and what she says, when she plans escape routes or plans to disarm and kill someone, because it feels that she overestimates her abilities and also other people overestimate her abilities too. How the author hypes Celaena and how Celaena hypes herself, ruins her character overall because it makes her arrogant and obnoxious. Chaol and Nehemia were the only characters that fleshed Celaena's character more by calming down that ego of hers. I don't know if I should continue the series or not. Supposedly a lot of people say Sarah makes up for her plot holes with the rest of the books.

I respect your opinion and even agree with some of them, but please try to read the rest of the series!!! I agree, the first book kind of seems like a Wattpad fan fiction written by a 12 year old, but the books get soo good later and many of the problems just become insignificant in the series. And Choal x Celaena or Dorian x Celaena isn't even a thing. In fact Celaena isn't even a thing anymore and she kind of drops the assassin act.

There wasn’t much drama between chaol and Dorian over celena bc they both loved each other and respected each other so much. Chaol was willing to let Dorian have her regardless of his feelings for her. Same with Dorian. They had a friendship that couldn’t be faltered even through to the last book. I loved throne of glass series! Everyone has a right to their own opinion though!

Sarah Maas's depiction of a strong female assassin frustrated me so much I wrote my own version of it minus the love triangle plus the action. I feel like it fixed a lot of the issues she had.

You also have to take in account that when Sarah wrote this book, she was 16. So it kind of makes sense for some of it to be "young" or "immature". I do, however, agree that Celeana was vain, and I think Sarah meant that. In the future books we see Celeana's character change drastically, and make fun of old celeana in a discreet way.

It's annoying with books if you go in with high expectations. Personally, I absolutely love this book, I have the entire series and - apart from the maturity and silly need to partner characters at the end of the last book - I found it without fault. But I can understand, if you go in thinking it will be certain things, that you might read it and be disapointed. To be honest, the book, blurb, cover and chapter were enough to make me read it way back when it was new - before the apparent hype you mentioned - so I found it gave me what it said it would. But, if you were told it was action packed, I can see how it was lacking. It has action, and it has tension, but it isn't a nail biting story until much later. If you were told it was a romance triangle, again I can see how you would be mislead, as it's more playful flirting and funny awkwardness and jibes, not a real heartbreaking romance - again - until a good few books later. I would encourage you to read the next few, but don't expect action fantasy adventure, instead consider a fantasy mystery with a handful of witty moments, clever characters, and more an intreguing backstory unveiled. Then again, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it, we're not all identical. I will add, just for the sake of it, my own novel was inspired from this book. I didn't like the love triangle, I wanted her to get with Dorian instead, so I wrote a snippit that turned into a novel that is now a completely different thing alltogether. So I owe Sarah Maas that much, if it does well. final note: segment your videos with simple editing and script it prior so you don't waste time in silence when recording. It helps shorten the vid, which means more people will watch, and if they don't want reasons they can skip ahead. Just a suggestion.

Also, she describes Celaena as vomiting at least 8 times. I swear she was puking in every chapter. If not throwing up she felt nauseous in between the upchucks. It became comical. I started actually laughing every time it happened again and again. Then SPOILERS*** in the final fight she is described nearly every other line as being nauseous so the whole time she's in the final duel I kept thinking, is the vomiting going to serve an important purpose? Will it all have been for this moment? But no, Celaena is just very sick to her stomach all the time I guess. She needs to get that checked out.

Ok, I LOVED tog when I read the first book. Thought it couldn't get any better than that. After having read the whole series, I wonder how I enjoyed the first book😂😂 It was definitely as cliche as you say, but oh my word does it get sO MUCH BETTER. So many plot twists happen throughout the entirety of the series. The first is completely different from the rest. I'll be honest that I hated the second because it was transitioning from that first universe of Celaena's small perception of the current universe to a much more complex galaxy of emotions and characters. But once that transition is made, I couldn't stop reading. I devoured the books. Absolutely fantastic
