I’m watching this 3 years later. Recently bought this mic on sale, full kit version, and really like it. I had a problem with the usb C connector. It has a rubber sleeve that fits very tightly. At first, I did not push it home and the mic didn’t work. I contacted Support and provided a full definition of my problem. They did state to be sure the cord was fully seated, but it was like an automated reply, not very clear nor satisfactory. I went back to the store and the audio specialist got it working right away, pointing out the need to seat the connector securely. Now it works on an 12 year old PC and a 2017 laptop. Should work on any USB connection, not just on USB C. Hope this helps someone.

a lot of rappers I know in my area have this mic and with acoustic blankets covering the door and acoustic panels on the wall and then the mic placed in a vocal booth it is the best mic in my opinion.

You have already previously enticed me to buy a Samsung Galaxy watch and NOW i'm enticed again to buying this new microphone. Staying subscribed to you is going to render me bankrupt lmao aside from that, great video and thorough review, I actually use the Blue Snowball atm for my videos. I loved the little asmr gags too.

@5:28 RGB ?!!! TAKE MY MONEY , usually microphones lack that feature and when i saw the RGB options i was like wow , they really hit the ball with this microphone, looks stunning, very professionally made and looks good on a desk ! great review mark and cant wait for your next one !

Great mic! If your watching this video and thinking about buying it, I recommend getting the kit, it comes with filters, a secondary mount and a case when you're not using it. The case is nice.

I’ve watched several other videos on this mic and they all sound like crap but you’ve made it sound good.

Both are good… but I generally prefer the Blue Snowball (which is similar to the standard Blue Yeti). The Thronmax Mdrill One sounds a bit too loud, sharp, vibrate-y, and distorted at certain parts - to the point where I fear might overwhelm my ears which are sensitive to sharp hisses - and I had to turn down the volume. The Blue Snowball sounds a bit muffled, soft, studio-recorder-like, warm, boomy, slightly too enchanced, smooth, silky, rounded, and rubbery - to the point where I kind of just want to hear more of it - and I had to turn up the volume.

@MarkWattsVLG did you test these on the shadow ghost? I am looking to get a mic for gaming on the ghost but have gotten little information on what works and what doesn't and I am hesitant to buy a mic without knowing it will for sure work on the ghost. Thanks for all your great videos!

I have the Thronmax microphone and I can't get over the distortions in voice recordings, also present in this test. It's like clipping / overdrive distortions, but looking at the recorded waveform, the signal is not anywhere near the limits. Disappointed.
