This song brings a tear to my eyes when I hear it these days. I was 25 or 26 when this song was released. I'm a 60 year old goat, now. So much history, so many things, & people I'll never see again. People I loved dearly, I had no idea existed yet. So many people who weren't even born yet.
@alphie203 жыл бұрын
Go listen to “My Life” by the Beatles. That song captures the sentiment you expressed PERFECTLY. I wasn’t even born when that song came out, it moves me to tears to this day!

I'm 32 but I feel the same. I was raised in the 90s but mentally, my siblings and I were raised in the 60s. The last girl of 4. My parents were very strict and they had that old school love. It may be a small gesture but I always admired how my parents would stop to Circle K. One of them would get the coffee but they NEVER had to ask who would get or how to make it. They just knew what each other liked. Idk. Right now I'm engaged to a 53 year old man. I just don't fit in with people my age.

This song takes me back to my childhood when my late mom and dad would sometimes argue and even fight, at some point when it quieted down, this song would be playing. My dad talks about my mom had long hair like Chaka and looked like her. Mom died in 1997 at age 41 from COPD and Kidney Failure. Being a grown single man, this song puts me in my feelings every time! Rest in Peace mom, Ida Marie Hunt Wilson, of Memphis, TN January 13, 1956 - August 8, 1997.

I look in your eyes and I can see We've loved so dangerously You're not trusting your heart to anyone You tell me you're gonna play it smart We're through before we start But I believe that we've only just begun When it's this good, there's no saying no I want you so, I'm ready to go Through the fire, to the limit, to the wall For a chance to be with you I'd gladly risk it all Through the fire Through whatever, come what may For a chance at loving you I'd take it all the way Right down to the wire Even through the fire I know you're afraid of what you feel You still need time to heal And I can help if you'll only let me try You touched me and something in me knew What I could have with you Now I'm not ready to kiss that dream goodbye When it's this sweet, there's no saying no I need you so, I'm ready to go Through the fire, to the limit, to the wall For a chance to be with you I'd gladly risk it all Through the fire Through whatever, come what may For a chance at loving you I'd take it all the way Right down to the wire Even through the fire Through the test of time Through the fire, to the limit, to the wall For the chance to be with you I'd gladly risk it all Through the fire Through whatever, come what may For a chance at loving you I'd take it all the way Right down to the wire Even through the fire To the wire, to the limit (through the fire) Through the fire, through whatever Through the fire, to the limit Through the fire, through whatever Through the fire, to the limit Through the fire, through whatever Through the fire, to the limit Through the fire, through whatever Through the fire, to the limit Through the fire, through whatever Through the fire, to the limit Through the fire, through whatever

My dad danced with another girl(not my mom) to this song in high school at prom. He always tells me stories from when he was a kid about how much fun it was to be a teen in the 80s, man would I give anything to grow up then, I can’t even go to high school this year and play on the football team and see those Friday night lights and hug your girl afterwards because of COVID. America has come too far I’m not even enjoying my childhood anymore, I’d rather drive a 67 Camaro to school listen to hair metal, and experience life as a reckless teenager.😕

"Through the Fire" is a song from Chaka Khan's 1984 album, I Feel for You. The David Foster-produced track was the third single from the album. It reached #60 in the US and #15 on the R&B charts. and was one of the few Khan hits to cross to the Adult Contemporary chart. The music video was filmed at Los Angeles' Union Station.
