My male co-worker (unfortunately senior to me) had that harsh, controlling attitude of wanting me to work and suffer more than anyone else in that department. Since he'd just received tenure, he hardly did much himself, yet kept pressuring me to take on more and more responsibilities. I naturally attract opportunities, so folks think it is effortless (when there's a lot of work behind the scenes).
