I really want to see how the a7rV camera holds out filming a wedding, because most higher MP cameras cause some blurring effect, I would like to see if this camera can perform cleanly with the combined/overlapped 4k and 8k settings.

Do you think that IBIS on A7S III may be improved via firmware upgrade in future? Or better stabilization in A7R V is the result of both, mechanical changes and better software?

Okay, what if we push it further? Ninja walk + last pro gimble from DJI + oss lens + catalyst browse + 120 fps in low light and low iso and high\low speed shutter as possible? Like eventually we're doing always post-processing, but maybe it can make some interesting outputs - like interesting motion blur or super sharp picture without a lot of noise in low light?

I want to see handheld macro shots with 90mm f2.8 macro g. That would be fantastic test for Ibis. Also, test with 24-105mm g oss.

please do a test with 24-105 and compare with other cameras that have active stabilization to see if there is a real difference.

Definitely helpful in deciding whether to get this camera or not, tho upgrading from my old d750 means any modern mirror less is an upgrade😂

Don't be tricked into upgrading by marketing hype. Chelsea Northrup pushed Sony mirrorless and said she made the change but now admits she still uses the D850 for wildlife.

@@dmart1490 Valid point, I definitely do my own research but it's nice to see real world examples of the new Tech. I have had my D750 for over 8 years now and it's been due for an upgrade for a while, and it makes logistical sense to switch over to Sony fully instead of half and half for stills/video. The a7r5 is the newest Sony mirror less so it'll have the longest lifespan and relevancy for the years in the future of me using it

@@dakoolguy111 Ive had my D750 for 8 years as well. Im hanging in to see if Nikon will release a smaller Z9 type design. But if not Im hoping Sony put the tilt/swivel screen on a A7C II.

so if stops are the measurement of stabilization that is standard now. how many stops would a gimble roughly be? if this Sony and I think the canon is 8-stops would the current gimbles be like 20?

stops are only useful for photos. For video its more complicated.

Are you really sure about the advantage of using a stabilized lens? From what I've read, with Sony it's not like Canon where the lens + sensor stab will work together, it's more like if you have a lens stab then the camera don't use the sensor stab. But I'm not sure, so it would be nice to know exactly.

For that price they could implement a digital stabilization system like on GoPro, that would certainly be a reason to throw out the gimbal.

Yeah, it's kind of shocking that they don't. They have an 8K sensor. This could easily be done from a technical point of view and would deliver amazing results.

Honestly I don't know why anyone would use IBIS for video on a Sony when catalyst browse appears to do such a great job correcting shaky footage. It's like having 12 stops of IBIS on the camera.

I agree - catalyst browse is great for this, especially if you're only smoothing out a few clips per job. I think its one of the most under rated features of Sony cameras.

Ive now bought the A7R5 ( I was a Nikon user) the IBIS is great. Ive used it for some push in reveal shots and then added bait more stabilisation in post and it looks like a gimbal has been used - Im very happy with it - Plust the AWB and Auto ISO work great as well - very happy

There's no stabilised 24-70mm 2.8 E mount lenses which is a damn shame.

Great question. I hate when you see people shooting iPhone reviews or similar saying how good it is then you see them using a rigged out iPhone with mic and handle etc. weight of the rig makes a big difference in stabilization.

I would choose a gimbal instead and with a cheaper camera saves the huge cost of this camera in first place

nah, you still have pretty decent camera. Sony a7R V more like showroom of their future technologies in next cameras

@@cyber_robot889 True...I will probably wait and see what Sony comes up with next. The only thing that i don't like about the A7C is that it can only do 30 fps in 4K and i love some dramatic slow motion for my videos😅 So for now i'm mainly using my GoPro for videos and the A7C for photos. Would be nice to have a full frame camera that can do at least 60fps in 4K, i might be more motivated to ditch my GoPro.

My guess is that it’s way easier to stabilize smaller sensors than big ones. Moreover action camp stabe is purely software based. So there’s no movable mounted sensor.

For the price, if you want video, just buy a GH6. It's more than half the price. I have a Sony A7iii and it's a great for photos but shooting video without a gimbal is fairly useless if you are doing anything other than a static shot. There's no way that the image stabilization is good enough here for professional use.

The S5 is not very good to be honest, the S1 is much better.

@@aiseurnae5976 i had the misfortune of owning the S5 briefly. It is not a premium product, my brother‘s S1 destroys it. The viewfinder resolution is so low that you cannot tell if something is in focus.

@@NVIK5 Yes I agree the viewfinder is better, the 6K is very nice, but the IBIS is not night and day with the S5.
