We did this all the time in high school (when the teacher was out of the room, of course!) We did it so often that the whole thing eventually broke out of the ceiling and was left to hang by a cord.

I showed my cousin's four little boys how to play "ceiling fan football" which is pretty much just throwing stuffed animals, nerf balls, and other such mostly harmless things at the ceiling fan when its turned on as high as it will go. They divide up in teams of two, one kid from one team throws a toy at the fan, and if a kid from the other team catches it before it hits the floor they get a point. If the toy breaks something the team that threw it gets two points. The winning team is the one that gets to 10 points first, or the one with the most points when they get caught and screamed at. I did this because my cousin's husband is an asshole. He very rarely punishes his boy children, because they are boys, but is very hard on their daughter and treats my cousin like shit. I seriously don't like the guy, but I'm an adult (chronologically anyway) so I can't just break his stuff myself.
