This morning, Home Minister Amit Shah made an announcement in Rajya Sabha seeking to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution that grants special status to Jammu & Kashmir.
Article 370 has often been the subject of intense debate and discussion. On December 18, 2015, a debate was held at the Constitution Club of India between Dr Subramanian Swamy and lawyer Ram Jethmalani on whether or not Article 370 of the Indian Constitution should be scrapped. The debate was organised by the Indian Union Debate Forum and moderated by Newslaundry CEO Abhinandan Sekhri.
Dr Swamy emphasised the importance of integrating the state of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India, explaining how this can be done only through the removal of Article 370. On the other hand, Jethmalani said amending the article is beyond the power of the Union government of India. He also said the article is important for the state of Jammu & Kashmir and for India as well.

How true it is. Jethmalani was a lawer by his degree but Dr Swamy is a lawyer with kno;edge and immense study of law books. If Dr Swamy appears for a law examination today I am sure he will fly in colours. Degree holders like Manish tiwari , Jethmalani can not stand up to him

@Vaibhav Mantri You didn't follow the fundamental logic of why 370 came into existence did you? This is closing the loop, or realizing the reason why 370 came into existence in the first place - which the ruling parties of India never bothered to address because they wanted to win elections not create or protect the integrity of the nation. There is nothing illegal about it, unless you want to feel very erudite as if you have uncovered a fine legal point. Google a response by a retired Indian Supreme Court judge where he lays out why it cannot be challenged.

Less educated se acha more educated hi hai, agar wo kuch galat karte h to public obviously unko hara degi agle elections mai Now coming to the point of kejriwal, he will be free soon. I think these old school politicians were jealous of aam aadmi party because of the image he build up around the people, he brought some new topics of discussion in politics which people always wanted. Neither the Congress nor the BJP ever invested in Education in fact BJP reduced it. Though according to NEP they wish to increase it but i thinks that's just a jumla acc to mota bhai. In case of kejriwal who is investing 25℅ of delhi revenue per year in education (it's too much in my opinion). He believes in the indian's talent whereas these khangressis and chaddis don't or it seems that they want to control india for a long period with a controlled growth rate (as they wish) just like giving nuts to a daily wage worker/slave.

Liked the way Ram Jethmalani asked whether he was supposed to support Dr Subramanian Swamy or to oppose him. He clearly gave indication that he has both speeches ready. Both exactly opposite each other. Meaning experts can mold the law and facts the way they want. Meaning, there is no need to pay attention to them!!!!

For all those who think that both the sides presented their 'personal' views, then they are completely wrong. The full video of the debate was published some 4 years ago where it was clearly shown that the speakers were divided into teams of 'for' and 'against' on the spot and the submissions made were on that basis. All that Mr. Jethmalani and Mr. Swamy did was arguing on the basis of allocation made by the organizers. Posting this since I see everyone's calling Mr. Jethmalani a loser and that his views were incorrect. In fact, he was given a more difficult task of opposing the motion, which only people with knowledge of law would understand.

Since becoming the pm, modi has by and large continued with his anti-Muslim and anti-Islam policies that he had successfully implemented in Gujarat. All modi's/bjp leadership statements issued in support of Muslims are nothing but lip service that doesn't hold any water or a single atom of sincerity or honesty at all. They're all utter lies intended to sway or change the current international and very negative criticism of modi/bjp/rss poor governance and injustice against the Muslim minority in India. If modi/bjp mean business about the statements they're issuing in their half-hearted written statements, why doesn't modi himself come out in the open and clearly state his position on the Muslim minority and Islam in India? Obviously, he remains a wolf camouflaged in sheep skin, and this is why Muslim houses are openly being demolished in India with no justice dispensed at all and this is unfortunately similar to what's the Israelis do in Palestine. Has India stooped to the low level of Israel? Everyone complains about the Muslim demonstrations etc. But what else are the Muslims supposed to do if they're not getting protection from the modi/bjp government and governance?
