We threw a dart at a map... Then flew there to complete 2 challenges... Here's what happened.
Find Matt and Thomas on Instagram here: @MattDajer and @ThomasBrag
Shout out to Kaden from the Yes Fam for suggesting the idea, to Julien Solomita and Colin Duddy from Waffsicle for having done this before us...check their videos out here: / @waffsicle and of course, to the countless spontaneous souls before us who have thrown darts at maps and have gone to where they landed :)
Every Friday we send you a 1-minute read on what we've learned from starting a business, seeking discomfort, and living a more fulfilling life: yestheory.com/newsletter

I did something similar without a dart throw, but when I left the Airforce in 2012 after 6 years, I had $47,000 saved as I had just come back from a long deployment (and saved outside of that) and I went to the San Antonio Airport and said "pick somewhere a flight is taking off too outside of America that I can make" and the women started naming places with flights coming up. I said "No, just name one without thinking" and she said "We have a flight to Rotterdam in 45 minutes" and I said "perfect" even though I had never been there. I ended up loving my time in Holland and after my trip, I found a Job in Denmark and moved here. I now live in Copenhagen Denmark still after 5 years and truly feel this was my destiny.

I'm from Missouri and this is extremely accurate. I absolutely love that this guy didn't put any spin on this or added any bias or sugar-coated it. He could have easily edited the footage to make Missourians (especially religious Missourians) look unintelligent and trashy or could have stayed out of touch by only visiting high-class places that are not truly representative of the state. I've never heard of this channel before, but I'm absolutely subscribing. This is is one of the most open-minded people I've seen on KZfaq. Love it!

Kindly, Jesus himself never proclaimed this account that he turned "water into wine". This is from Gospel of John. Gospel of John is filled with conjecture. And conjecture is not substitute for truth. Although the majority of individuals "believe" in this account. It doesn't turn it into truth. Recent studies have proven that any amount of alcohol is unhealthy and overall toxic. Anyone who can reason would reason that major religious figures who were given Prophethood or Messengership by GOD would never promote the consumption of alcohol, for various(all obvious) reasons.
@Amahrixlol
@Amahrixlol 5 жыл бұрын
Peace Odsay, indeed wine has its pros just as it has its cons. It would be foolish for me to disagree with you on this. Facts are facts and you're absolutely right. I will briefly compare to pork for the sake of getting the point across in an easier manner. Pig meat has its pros and its cons(one being leaner than beef) but has been forbidden to eat by GOD. (in the Bible & Quran etc). For this reason alone, that it's been forbidden by GOD, we stay away. God must test individuals faith in one manner or another, so He wisely, out of His favor, has given us vast options of meats to consume but forbade one, as a means to test.. for there is no other way to test an individuals obedience other than prohibiting him/her from consuming what he can readily consume if he wanted, all in the cause of GOD, to filter out if the individual is believing in lip-service or a true devout submitter to GOD. Consumption of alcohol is the same concept. It has its pros and it has its cons, but thats not the point. The definition of conjecture is "an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information". This is precisely what Gospel of John is, similar to "Hadiths" followed by billion Muslims that claim that its the "teachings of the Prophet" (fun side fact: unbeknownst to them..GOD prohibited those very "hadiths" in the Quran). It is all "hearsay". Hearsay is "information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor." Hearsay/conjecture is not a substitute for truth, even GOD will tell you & actually does. There is no evidence that the Gospel of John is what it claims it is, and it is reasonable to believe that GOD would not want us to rearrange our life and follow something that is contradictory guesswork of the account of Jesus. More on hearsay/conjecture; The work of Gospel of John and its authorship to-date is anonymous. How can you as a reasonable human being submit your life and follow claims made by a book who has an anonymous author and not direct from the source (GOD Himself via Jesus/or other Prophets/Messengers). It claims what it claims... that it is a biblical account of Jesus, and that's the only legs it's standing on, which break easily. If your a parent... you would *ideally* advise your children to believe only whats evident and not guesswork in all realms of life, I believe it is reasonable to say that GOD(& also GOD does say so) would also want his creation to follow evidence and not hearsay/conjecture. One must look deeper, very few get it.. and i mean VERY few. Majority are doomed, as i'm sure you're well aware. At the end of the day, more bad comes out of alcohol than good. In the most literal sense, it is an unnatural toxic drink and it is not for a human being to consume something...toxic, let alone its addictive properties. Just "common sense" as they say. If one needs to rationalize and justify the consumption of alcohol against the facts to make themselves feel better about their lifestyle and current state of beliefs, that's their problem and not my business. All the best Odsay. Peace, Amahrix Note; I do recognize that you may be a responsible drinker of wine and can properly control yourself and are the lucky bunch, but it is unreasonable to say and believe that Jesus accepted/promoted/nurtured/encouraged/approved of alcohol in any way, shape, or form. And I kind of went all over the place with my reply... butttttt yeaaaa there you go.
@Amahrixlol
@Amahrixlol 5 жыл бұрын
Peace Odsay! Ty for your reply :). I am glad you're open-minded and I hope to continue dialogue with you off-youtube comment section, perhaps email? It's fun and interesting talking about this. Maybe we can continue to learn from one another. As far as your comment "while there is no proof it is what it claims to be, there is no proof it ISNT what it claims to be" goes. Allow me to explain what unfalsifiable claims are and the logical fallacy that it is. (I used to think just like you so I know what you mean and the process you took to get there). I can say to you that today GOD manifested Himself in my bedroom and told me XYZ. I now go around telling people that GOD told me XYZ and if you do not live in accordance to this new knowledge GOD bestowed *only upon me*.. you're going to hell. I tell my colleagues that I am writing XYZ in a book to preserve what GOD told me and it is to be distributed to the world and believed immediately and if no one believes me, they don't believe GOD. How can anyone prove me wrong... or prove me right? This is an unfalsifiable claim. They're not scientific. One cannot be expected to follow what has a *possibility* of being total rubbish, especially when it's religion. I'm not in the business of gambling my path of life, mainly because I only have *one*. But if the person is making grandiose claims and wants to be believed, it is to be accompanied by falsifiable evidence by the deliverer. All truth that we take today, especially science, is falsifiable. The scientific method is based on this whole concept. The saying goes... "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". If I go to the police station and make a claim that you committed a crime against me with evidence what do you think happens? The claim could be true... the claim could be false... but what is a reasonable person supposed to do. Is it up to YOU to prove yourself innocent, or is it up to ME to provide evidence and prove you guilty? Again, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. You are innocent until PROVEN guilty. You simply deny & it turns into he said/she said... and we get nowhere, unless I accompany my claim with evidence... since I am the one making the claim to begin with. In short, the burden of proof lies on the one making the claim, not the one being told it. Last ridiculous example... what if GOD manifested himself to me as I am typing this and told me Gospel of John is in fact rubbish, there is no evidence that I have to prove this to you because I didn't have time to film or record it, nor do you have any evidence to prove me wrong. Furthermore, It is outrageous and unreasonable to man to believe that GOD, being the *Most Merciful*(which I believe you believe that GOD is the Most Merciful, as do I) would send to us a book and have it be unfalsifiable. GOD, holding the Most Merciful title, would accompany His message with evidence so as to reassure the people who possess knowledge(true monotheist believers) that the Revelations are GOD's words. You see what I'm saying? Makes sense? As far as your father goes; *probabilistically speaking* he may be too biased to think with an open mind and critique/self-analyze his own beliefs(especially given the fact that he is a pastor as you mentioned). He might be or might not be a victim of the "sunk-cost fallacy" which is when our decisions are tainted by the emotional investments we accumulate, and the more we invest in something or believe in something and revolve our life around it, the harder it becomes to abandon it. Not making a personal attack whatsoever, just be *aware* at how he responds to you(especially because he is invested in his pastorship). All the best. Peace Amahrix Note: On the contrary, I don't want you to think I am crazy or something but there is falsifiable evidence that the New Testament is not what majority of people think it is and if you want to hear it out i'd have to write it in an email since it would be super super long. But i'm only willing to invest my time if you truly will listen with open-mind as I do not want to waste my time. You're open to critique it but as long as your heart is pure to GOD-alone and have an open-mind you'll understand, virtually guaranteed.
@Amahrixlol
@Amahrixlol 5 жыл бұрын
Peace, It is my youtube name(without the "lol")Amahrix at gmail(dot)com. Try sending something to that. I read it right now, and I will carefully read it once more and will let you know my response, GOD willing. I hope you thoroughly read my comment above to. I'd like to reiterate a point I made since now you're well aware of the difference between falsifiable and unfalsifiable claims from my comment above. GOD being the Most Merciful to believers, wouldn't you reason that He would send down his Revelation with perpetually falsifiable evidence to put to rest doubts about authenticity for the true, 100% devoted believers? If you were in GOD's position and sent down and communicated Revelations to your creation, would you accompany it with falsifiable evidence for your devoted believers amongst the creation to assist them in removing any doubt in their hearts that the Revelation is in fact from GOD and make their life easy? I know I would, and I believe any reasonable mind would, if he were god. But if we would do that and GOD didn't do that today... that would make us more merciful than GOD to believers and would strip GOD of the Most Merciful title because it would imply that if we were in GOD's position, we would be more merciful to believers than He when delivering revelations to Earth. Clearly this is wrong, and clearly GOD did send falsifiable evidence with his revelation, but it takes a pure, committed person to see it. These questions/thought-experiment are mainly rhetorical. Anyways, test email me at the address above. Goodnight for now! Peace Amahrix

@@robespierre3364 It might be worth noting this video makes it look a bit smaller than it is. The area has 75,000 people, and most of it is more like a half hour drive to KC which has a ton of stuff to do. In the city itself though, St. Joe has a couple pretty cool museums, a decent theatre, some fine restaurants, a good historic district, apple picking, a casino, etc. Just depends on your taste. It's not a big city, but there's some stuff.

My first flight out of the US was for work to Israel on my 4th day at a new job. No research, not much of a plan... check into hotel, meet client, take it from there. Such a great experience! I've been back 4 times, toured Jerusalem twice, bounced around Europe as part of every trip. Travel is a way of life! Inspired to visit more places off the beaten path!

I love watching these types of videos and I know this is like a year old or whatever but watching this one in particular is crazy. I'm from Kansas City and so seeing it through the eyes of ppl who 1) aren't from here and 2) are some of my favorite ppl to watch on YT is like actually insane. I hope you guys can come back someday and experience the actual City and downtown bc it's a wonderful place.
