Lindsey is soooo cute here. Love his expression ( well, OK where he's trying NOT to have an expression ) when Stevie says " you can't say that to Bob Dylan". I just love watching them together!

From one who appreciates such things, I am left with admiration of Mr. Buckingham's diplomacy and grace and enjoy Ms. Nicks gentle retorts: Glad you hold your ground so automatically. Your 'hearing' is a gift, love.

Lindsey makes a great point about the tenses in the verses. However that is what makes Stevie's writing so unique. Her tenses are always all over the place. She ad libs her own lyrics all the time. With most singers I would agree with Lindsey but Stevie breaks the mold of your typical song writer and she is right here. Now YOUR going home sounds much better than now hes going home. and Stevie won and the rest is FM history!

I love Lindsey’s production and instrument ability however I really love Stevie’s songwriting, singing and the way she wears her boots in the FM family. Winning!

It's unnerving to me that in every dang situation between LB and SN he is always made out to be the bad guy with people. I mean, he was giving her constructive criticism and it wasn't like he was all, "whatever b*($@ you will listen to ME and change those words or I will produce your tepid-sounding music no more." He was just like, "Whatever...it was a suggestion."LB is prob the only person who doesn't worship everything Stevie does and doesn't give a rat's %$ what ppl think about him either.

If she had listened to him on many of her songs they would not have been as popular. The reason she follows her own instincts in music and lyrics is because she is the better of the two as writers. I think the audience has proved this! Who has sold more albums and made a greater success of their life? Stevie Nicks sparked Fleetwood Mac into fame with Rumors as well! Lindsey has his talents, however, she is the power behind the fame!

There are tense issues, too -- the first verse is past tense (he FELL for her) and the second is present (now you ARE going home). So...score two for Lindsey. Unfortunately. Hmm. Maybe this should be an exercise in my remedial grammar class next semester. Students can watch the argument and write a paragraph to explain whether Stevie wins or Lindsey wins, and why. They'd hate it. They are all too young to even know who Stevie and Lindsey are.

Its called POETIC LICENSE Lindsey! I'm glad she didn't change it because "and now you're going home" flows much better... I also think they should have kept the 'question and answer' style Chorus ...anyone else agree?

I mean tbh, I 100% agree with Stevie. It's not hard to figure out that she started the story about both of them and finally puts herself in first person - tiresome of the dilemma. I absolutely love it n that it's so different. I wasn't confused at all.

Grammar. The song starts in 3rd person (he/she) and shifts to second (you). It starts in past tense (he fell for her) and shifts to present tense (something inside you SAYS). These are pretty major grammar no-nos...but honestly, does it matter? Stevie's right -- the poetic, lyrical quality disappears when the language is all prim and proper.

Your right..she's considered the "Queen of Rock 'n Roll," and is a two-time R&R Hall of Famer Inductee. She's been performing for, what +50 years? Sorry, but I think she has eclipsed Bob Dylan by mere measure of success. BTW, she wasn't comparing herself to Bob Dylan. Her point was, the way she writes songs, as a poet, is the way she writes, and she doesn't need to follow the "proper" rules of grammar.

He is correct and she is not.. She is being narrow minded. It ain't like they cant just scratch the idea if its a failure and go back to square one. Creative people usually says, lets try that idea and see if it works. I just googled the lyrics for this song. He's correct. They're all jumbled up and make almost no sense at all. Not that song lyrics really need to, or should make sense, mind you, but he is still correct. The song would be better if all the lyrics were written in the 3rd person.
