Thru-hiking NEW Transcaucasian Trail Georgia

Жыл бұрынIn the autumn of 2022, we set out to hike the Upper Svaneti section of the Transcaucasian Trail in Georgia. But the plans changed along the way and we ended up hiking all the way to the border of Armenia.
We hiked for a total of 36 days and around 500 kilometres through various mountain passes, villages, colourful forests and unmarked paths.
The trail through Georgia was brand new and not public yet. We were among the first people to try this thru-hike and it definitely had its challenges on its way.

Great video and super informative! Thanks. This is helping a lot with my preparation for the end of 2023 and early 2024 when I will going through Georgia twice and Armenia on my planned attempt to walk the Silk Road from Istanbul to China. Does that outdoor shop actually ship goods abroad? ...I mean if I could buy online from them.

What was your favourite part of the trail? I would like to do 9-16 days long trail and the mountains in Georgia look absolutely beautiful. Is there any specific part that you would recommend doingg the most?

I would say either the Upper Svaneti or the southern part with the volcanic landscapes.

What are these weird towers everyewhere in Mestia and other villages poking out of houses and sometimes just in random places? I luv the overview of equipment and explanations for having new backpack and gear etc.
