Just a nice straightforward dumpster diving adventure! Although we did find a lot more treasures than expected... and the scrap was flowing! Always a great day for trash!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3jrO2iS
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

Was at the tip today doing a rubish load. And there was a plumber tossing a whole ute load of clean large copper pipes straight to landfill. I asked him if i could have it and he said sure, helped me load it onto my ute. Than 20 minutes later i had it at the scrapers and got $800 for the load. Today was a good day

It is kind of ironic that I found this channel. I have just started getting in to the scrap metal thing. Was actually out tonight, for the first time, scouting bins in Industrial parks. Found half a dozen promising spots! Take the truck out after tomorrows storm and see what I can load up! Thanks to your videos I got a "road map" to finding treasure! CHEERS!!

I love those types of open top construction site dumpsters. In fact, came across two of those dumpsters at some construction site today for a new hospital being built. Tons of steel loom casings without wires unfortunately but also found thick wire inside the casings too. Good video

Thanks for the entertainment! I can see that your truck has mechanical issues with the steering and brakes. You should get them fixed so the truck will steer closer to the dumpster and stop closer too. I'm glad to see you picking cans and bottles too. Here in Sk we get .10 each for them I Imagine Ab gives about the same. Looked like about $2 in that bag, they "can" really add up.
@thubprint
@thubprint 2 жыл бұрын
Oh bottles and cans sure do add up! They used to be my whole thing for awhile, and you can definitely make enough to get by if you focus on it. How can you tell so easily what the truck needs?! Hi, maybe you should start hunting for cardboard with a diy bale machine - guess you are able to build a nice working one. By the way, how much is a "commercial" bale of carboad worth? In my area cardboard and paper is collected seperate and weekly picked up by a company and they sell the cardboard and paper bales. Stay safe and blessings

Could you try boiling sealed plugs in water and soaking sealed plugs in wiping achohol and oil of wintergreen (ratio: 3 to 1). Boiling sealed plugs in water is meant to make it easier to remove the pins. Using acholol and wintergreen is meant to help soften plastic. Don't know if this will work on plugs.

In my experience those appliances are only really worth stripping down if you have the ability to sell the components, like on eBay. A dishwasher may have a stainless steel tub and a motor, the washing machine motor is worth removing for scrap as well. Typically I’ll just pull motors and sell the rest as steel, it takes too much time to pick the rest apart for a bit of wire

I don’t know if my opinion can be trusted as I haven’t melted any into bars, but I don’t think it adds enough value to justify the time and the fuel. Diego, many, possibly most scrapyards wont even take ingots, bcuz they dont know what the composition is throughout the whole thing. They’d have to take your word for it, or take the time to chop each ingot in half, and prolly sample the core. Not worth it for the yards
