I also have that same caddy..I went with kicker 12s an kicker door speakers hits pretty good..think about changing that deck..even sounds better when you can adjust the frequencies thru a aftermarket deck for the subs an add door speakers..sounds real good nice touch with the bass knob in the ashtray

Congrats on doing the job. Love the bass knob in the ash try, gives it a personal touch. Keep him reading up on it, fine tune the audio, look into sound dampening. Maybe he can make it into a business, fun way to make money and make people happy.

@@outofthetoolboxtinkerso i have a 03 caddy and same subs and everything but my voltage is going down into the 12s did you upgrade your alternator or anything my amp is also getting pretty warm did you have this happen to you?

@@commandercornelious4065 yes few months later same thing...my son had to add a battery (energie pr1900 12v ) for it and an upgraded amp .

Looks great! Next time though make sure the 12V power wire fuse is always closest to the battery. With the fuse being at the back next to the amp, that means all the wire between the fuse and the battery is unprotected. If that length of power wire ever gets a short, there is nothing protecting it and it will burn!

Thank you. I realized I left a couple feet of unnecessary wire, so I could trim that out. How close to the battery should the fuse be?

@@outofthetoolboxtinker - fuse should always be no more than 1ft away if possible. And that's only because it needs to be mounted somewhere in the engine bay as soon as the wire comes off the battery post 👍🏼

Why didnt you just grab 12v off the cigarette lighter? Put that fuse closer to the battery and cut that powerline to the correct size. You're going to burn your car down. Swap out the line level converter for a kicker one and set the low pass filter to 80-100 hz.

Please don't use a self tapping screw for ground, they tend to work themselves loose and you end up with a really bad connection. instead put your amp ground wire together with one of the factory ground screws! much better. Other than that, install looking good! Skar audio is great stuff! Thumbs way up!

Everything is great except for that awful exhaust system. It's a luxury car not a muscle car. The exhaust ruins the whole luxury aspect of the Caddy. There's nothings like a quiet luxury car creeping by and all you hear is vocals and slap in the trunk.

I agree with you. I've always thought the same thing about my sts. I've seen allot of people straight pipe them but i just never saw the point of it since its a luxury car. Although i do have to say that it does make the car sound kinda nice, and in a way these cars are muscle cars.

Pretty straight forward I have the same car I just bought it myself for 2800! Mines red and has 90k miles but I should just need to run a power cable from under the seat find a ground tap into the old wires from the stock subwoofer and ad my own amp?

As far as I have heard 1200 watts is about the most you want to push with a stock alternator installed.
