Your sound and touch are as of the greatest. Deep, resonant, and that elusive thing endemic of all acoustic instruments and all the great players - especially that of the sitar- sustain. Just wonderful.

I am not a scholar of music. But this is what I felt & a very honest opinion. How well you have maintained the mood throughout 13 mins (without going for unnecessary fast taans in between) is what very few can achieve.

Manj khamaj is a Maihar Gharana invention. So I presume that's why Purbayan plays it.

One cant even talk without combination of multiple expressions... And Music is a much higher stage for expression.. Thats how human express... Dont know about you though... 💐

@@Takitataka Maybe for pop music. This music is different though, isn't it? Watch Nikhil Banerjee, Budhaditya, Kushal Das, Shivkumar Sharma play. No need for histrionics. Even more so for people like Kishori Amonkar and many other vocalists even though they all move their hands, the inner calm and repose is always dominant.

While this sitar is very good, somehow the musicians of today do not compare to the ones of yesteryears such as Nikhil Banerjee, RS, Vilayat Khan, Ali Akbar Khan, Vasant Rai, Bismillah Khan, Rais Khan and other greats.
