I found this video and was trying to find the siren because Plymouth mi fire station #2 is the fire station by my house. But of course now there is just some 2001-130 in its place.

I can't imagine why they wanted to take it down. With the exception of the missing bird guard and the unpruned tree branches, the condition of this one looked and even sounded great.

I am supprised that it ran in alert signal. For me, it ran in attack. Looks like that could be the last test I think. That is chopper level 3 BTW.

By replace with a 1003 i meant replace the thunderbolt with another thunderbolt. The Tbolt 1003 and the 3T22 (a variation of the 2T22) have solenoids and dampers, allowing them to do the hi-lo fire signal.

Because, unfortunately, Whelens have battery backup, something Thunderbolts don't.

they need 2 trim those trees it takes away the nice looks of the tbolt

Whelens and 2001s both suck, but the whelen is a little bit better. Modulators and 612s are a very unwise (lol megatron reference) decision to install. Whelens aren't very reliable, and no electronic sirens can operate in temprature extremes. KEEP THIS THUNDERBOLT OR AT LEAST REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING DECENT LIKE A 1003 OR A 3T22!
