I didn't appreciate what appeared to be a non indigenous ( white woman) who joined in the dance. Whereas she may not have meant anything malicious, it's STILL a matter of rendering respect to cultural customs. Unless she was given permission, I would say that was not the time to decide to skip around in such a haphazard and disrespectful manner.

Judging from the announcement after the first dance, she was not welcome to join in.

Lol she coulda been a light skinned native who wanted to dance 💃 🩰 but they should save that for inter-tribals . I love fancy shawl . So beautiful

At the risk of offending...who is the White (looking) woman who was dancing without Regalia? I know settlers are welcome at Powwows, but I think we should watch respectfully from the audience...

What if she is native, and the culture was robbed from her?

Hi Joanna.... I believe she just wasn't aware of powwow etiquette between inter-tribal dancing and competition dancing... I told her... Whoa, stay off the floor during contests... I think she learned a forward lesson from our encounter... keep safe, thanks for the visit... :-)

I hope this lady understand she can't be doing this and jumping in like this is a house party. If she has she been robbed from her culture or something else she should have asked somebody and not just jump in.

It's not about the speed or good voice, it's about the culture.

Can someone tell me when the gentlemen are dancing whether it is traditional or another type of dance why is there money being thrown at they feet? And can anyone give the money when they are dancing?
@peiganpowwowproductions7902 жыл бұрын
Hello Poshlady43... there are 4 dances that the men perform... traditional, grass, chicken and fancy bustle... money thrown at their feet is a token (gift) of appreciation for their dance performance... the money is then picked up, and usually give to an elder person at random in the audience for Coffee, Soup or Sandwich... and yes, anyone can give the money (gift) as a show of appreciation... thank you for the visit and the comment.... keep safe eh... :-)
