Fr. Warner, it's so true that humanly, even though we profess to trust and love Him, in adversities we often doubt and fail God. In struggles of my own, I remember Job and pray that I have faith like him... so unshakable. And here, we have people in today's world, like your friend who cling to their faith in God and His goodness, and remind us too, to do likewise. Thank your for your inspirational sharing, dear fr.

Dear Fr Warner - your reflection was so heartfelt. This text in 1 Kings advises us never to give up on prayer. For all of us who are struggling, we need vision to see that little cloud in our lives & open our hearts so we don't miss God's promised showers of blessings. And they will come as it did recently for us after praying for 14years. May we always trust in God's promises & never give up. Praying for you, your friend & all who are waiting for answers to keep believing & keep the faith. Thank you for your prayers & blessing us. May God bless you too. 🙏 💞

HI Fr Warner, this is exactly my situation since 2 yrs like your friends. Thanks for invoking the faith and hope, i could literally see tears in your eyes for the last few mins when you said why does God allow sufferings for those who are obedient to him. While we see the disobdient and adulterers are thriving and we fall victims again and again. I am still not able to find a convincing answer, though in the Bible i am aware about Elijah, Job, Psalm 73 and abundance of examples of great saints. The only answer i could get is that our journey and goal is heaven, however to live on earth we need to face the realities of life, the consequences of others sin effects us. Its a huge challenge in these times to be holy and yet acheive goals in life for the sake of family

Thank you,Fr for your teaching about the faithfulness of God,as you mentioned King Ahab was not a obedient and good king, does he deserve to be blessed for what he has done for himself and the people? Please let us know what happens to King Ahab in the end.Hope you stay well, will pray for your friend, thanks for your blessings.

Elijah sat down, putting his head between his knees and prayed persistently, prayed without ceasing. Finally, torrential rains followed. God had to show that He is the Lord. The heartfelt prayer of a good person works very powerfully. Elijah was a human being like ourselves. He prayed hard for it not to rain and no rain fell for three-and-a-half years, then he prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth gave crops. Thank you Fr.Warner for today's reflection on 1 Kings, helping us to ponder on the power of prayer, for God always answers the prayer of the faithful. Fr. Warner, keeping you, your friend in our prayers, especially, those who have no one to pray for and are in need of our prayers. Thank you also for your prayers and blessings. God bless and heal you. AMEN!
