CJ later admitted that he didn't actually leave because of his family, he actually went broke because of his weed use. Which people actually got pissed at him for because he had went on a rant on Facebook about how musicians make no money, but he backtracked when he admitted where all his money went to. Once he got back on his feet he rejoined the band

Hey bro appreciate you making this, I was there since about their 3rd Gig and have followed them ever since … pretty much spoken to ever member (current and past) of the band after shows having drinks … but yeah used to go to the little shows on week nights in rock nightclubs in Sydney with 50 people lol… I knew they were going to get big back them! They were doing stuff so well!

So I've got a story about the show that you used the footage of for the Adversary album cycle. That gig was at a church in the Melbourne (Australia) suburb called Bayswater. There was maybe 200-250 people there crammed in the tiny front room of the church. It was hectic. But something happened at that gig that "apparently" pissed the band off. So Cj told the crowd to wreck the place and somehow panagrams and inverted crosses got sprayed everywhere. Other stuff got damaged. They didn't run gigs there after that hahaha It's been pretty great to watch this band grow. I've seen them in tiny venues with like 100 people and I've them in arenas. It's mental. I was also fortunate enough to be at the 10 year anniversary of hate gig that they filmed and had pyrotechnics.

So CJ used to coach me on vocals back in "The Adversary" era. I used to play in another Local band at the time... Grew pretty close to him in this time period... basically the main issue with Brandon from his words was a severe attitude problem. Especially towards Women (shocker right) there was many controversies, involving some grape allegations that no one knows about because that was a pre "internet drama" when he was kicked out of the band. TAIM very much wanted to go in a more tech death direction... Even after the Adversary. CJ used to play in a band called Evolva and Vegas In Ruins... He had a wicked hardcore yell which the boys in TAIM at the time did not want him to do. They were literally telling him do lows only. Which was completely crippling his amazing range. He kept telling me he was going to leave the band at this point (This is before Hate was even an album). Honestly, the band at that point sounded like an absolute nightmare to be a vocalist in. I remember sitting in the car with CJ and I showed him King Conquer, and were like. Dude, yall are missing that hardcore element... You can do these mid fucking yells so good, where did the breakdowns go in the music!?? From there I remember him taking a much firmer stand with the band after threatening to leave... Shortly after this, they released the first version of Infinite Forms which had a different style of vocals on it then what is in the album, CJ was using a lot more of his mid range which I vividly remember him wanting to do. Just to add, as this video was done before the controversy that had CJ removed from the band. This guy is one of the best most kind and understanding humans I have ever met. He has such a level of chill and care for his family... That his name being dragged through the mud and kicked out of TAIM is such BS that ive given up on the band completely... Anyway... maybe people will see this! Just thought to add some additional context as the Sydney DC/Metal scene back then was the wild west lol.

Love Thy Art Is Murder. Hands down still my favourite band. Seen tons live now. Saw them last month with Tyler fronting and it was honestly one of the best shows I've seen them so far, going back to 2012. Still the best live Deathcore band out there, and they had Whitechapel and Fit For An Autopsy with them this time around. I've always loved their brand of Deathcore, just has a lot of groove in it, live shows a re always fucking hectic and fun, and no different this time around in October, despite the obvious "drama" surrounding the new LP. Even played Slaves Beyond Death for first time in fucking ages.. CJ literally boycotted that song as he was sick of doing it live.. so bonus content this tour haha. Tyler's vocals are good live, sort of bridging between CJ and Brendan. Look forward to seeing what they bring out in the future as I love the new LP. Some really strong songwriting on it. Andy Marsh has really piloted the songwriting on it by all accounts. I totally love how the band has progressed over the years.

Decent video but you blew it when it comes to Gary Markowski (one of the two original guitarists). You say that he quit when it was actually much more complicated than that… As a musician within the band he was probably like 75% responsible for the sound of the demo, “Infinite Death”, and “The Adversary.” He was EXTREMELY influential in their sound and I’m surprised you couldn’t recognize that! He was kicked out (fired) of the band after the release of “The Adversary” once the others discovered he had been ripping off the band for a while and ultimately tried pawning off their equipment while on tour. Although he was the creative sound behind the first few years of the band, he ended up being a nutcase and had to be replaced. Just wanted to point this out for the sake of “MySpace Deathcore” history. Markowski didn’t quit-he was fired just as covertly yet forcefully as Brendan was. Their other founding guitarist (Sean Delander) stayed on for “Hate” and is the only remaining original member but has never contributed much to their sound. Dude’s riding the gravy train but you can’t blame him. It was always Brendan, Markowski, and Lee during the MySpace days. Once “Hate” came out it was a completely separate unit altogether, for better or worse. Also, you missed a big opportunity to cover the transition between Brendan and CJ’s vocal styles during the time with real people’s comments we have in real time. Once Brendan was kicked out, the band released their teaser single track “Engineering the Antichrist” on KZfaq. I was weary yet it grew on me, but the “Infinite Death” fans were up in arms about how lame CJ’s vocals were in comparison to Brendan’s. It was such a hot topic until “The Adversary” was released. After that people seemed to chill out and realize that Brendan was gone and this was what the band would be. You could have had a field day with screenshots of that, as well as screenshots of the band’s Last.Fm page. Come on, man. Do better research! And maybe learn how to pronounce names like Despised Icon and The Adversary properly 😂❤
@xtheyan
@xtheyan 8 ай бұрын
Hey man , thank you for your comment. That’s true , I could’ve done better for sure but as you can see , it was one of my first videos, I did my best but since then …I’ve learned a lot and I’ve had the pleasure to talk with bands like I Declare War, Despised Icon and Winds Of Plague, all confirming that my informations are very accurate so I think the work I’m doing is okay. Everyone can do better and of course I can’t include 100% of the infos into my videos , you have to be selective and find a proper balance. I’m doing all of this because I love the MySpace era and I think it’s important to document it , and nothing is stopping you to make videos about those bands as well! For my pronunciation, I’m very open about the fact that I’m very often terrible at it , but considering English is my second language, I think its fair to say it’s not so bad 🤘🏻🔥

@xtheyan
@xtheyan 7 ай бұрын
@@Ross-ro1su the funny thing is that you’re literally the only one who ever said that. I’m pretty sure that if the bands themselves are validating the accuracy of my informations, my research process is okay for the most part. As I said before, this video was one of my first videos and out of thousands of comments on my channel , (including band members) you are literally the first one telling me to do better research. It’s easy to tell people what they can do better. No video is perfect and I CANT include every single fact , it just doesn’t make any sense. Yes you’re right , it’s not my main source of revenue, which means I’m 100% doing it out of love and passion. I’m not forcing you to watch anything man

I remember coming across Thy Art is Murder when they had less than 1k views here on youtube! I definitely miss the old vocals, they were so goddamn frantic, but I get that they had internal differences. The old lyrics were pretty cringey and mysognistically overboard lmao. But that's all in good fun when it comes to deathcore right??? Also their guitar style in the early album days was nuts! Hate was their last huge peak to me, I mean they're still solid but I feel like they lost their edge after that and kinda sound like generic deathcore. They do still have some bangers here and there. They've evolved quite a lot throughout time that's for sure. Just learned that CJ just got kicked out last month and all his vocals were removed from the new album without warning him?? Oh shit I gotta read up on this drama 🤔

CJ was a far better vocalist back during The Adversary era than what he is today. One of the main reasons I don’t care for them much at all anymore past Hate. I do miss Brendan’s vocals though.

Love the video dude!! \m/ I was a teenager during this era, I have it to thank for the love I have for Deathcore today. You mention how much you like Brendan's highs and touted them as being some of the best of all time (totally agree). That being said, if you havent heard of them I recommend checking out "The Devastated", namely their song Tongue in Cheek. They only have one album but their vocalist is a MANIAC. Cheers dude!

i honestly really miss Brendan, the lyrics were so stupid but his high's were so good, CJ just doesnt have that range, infinite death has so much energy(actually made this comment before i heard your comments, but i agree with you his vocals were so good, sadly to me CJ just is pretty boring imo, good at what he does but what he does is extremely mid the fact that they refuse to play their older songs(hell change the lyrics but they are still classics) is disappointing

Back in the day I head a small stint of being anti christ and anti government and talking about it in my music and lyrics but at some point I switched into being more focused on writing and producing something positive while still sounding aggressive. I hate when a band has such a big reach and all they talk about is negativity when it’s so important to promote positivity and good vibes. Even leaving religion out of it there’s nothing wrong with a positive message so I can appreciate his concern for the kids

Monotonous lows, released the same album vocally over and over again, which shits me because CJ could do highs. When they toured on the adversary they still played alot of infinite death.
