Composer and multi-instrumentalist, the German-born Aukai now based in Colorado, draws his inspiration from both classical minimalist and ambient music. In his music we find his desire to create bridges between music and imagery, a way of composing that echoes the universe of Thylacine. This version of "Night Train” reflects one of his childhood memories, the cadence of travel that accompanies us during a journey.
"Train rides remain fondly in my childhood memories. They hold an adventurous, unknown element,” says Aukai. The German producer took Thylacine’s electronic base and added his own acoustic colors to it, classical nylon guitar, harmonium and, of course, the charango. This remix carries the innocence and lightness of childhood through a whistling melody that’s a perfect companion for a daydream.
