I recorded this chant in my home studio and perform vocals on all 5 tracks.

A few years ago, a KZfaq viewer in Europe was teaching his mother the Amitabha Sadhana by showing her my video on the practice. Unfortunately, she was succumbing to cancer and he contacted me to express gratitude for the chant and video.
During our correspondence, he asked if I knew of a long playing Amitabha Mantra Chant that she could listen to while resting. It was their hope that she could immerse herself in the vibration of the Mantra during her final days. At the time, I knew of no such version.
This latest chant video is my attempt to create such an offering for those that are in poor health and may be passing away. Especially now, with ever growing numbers of people having to die alone in quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This Mantra is also very good for healthy people to listen to and chant. Chanting along with this video can also be a meaningful and transformative experience.
It is my aspiration that this Mantra chant will bring assurance, comfort, peace, bliss, realization, luminosity and infiniteness to anyone that is ill and may be dying. May it also bring these same qualities to loved ones that may be present during these periods of intense suffering, profound transition and impermanence.
The Mantra - Om Ami Dewa Hri - carries the Blessings of Amitabha - The Buddha of Infinite Light.
This Mantra is central to the Phowa practice of Vajrayana Buddhist meditation. Phowa is described as "the practice of conscious dying", "transference of consciousness at the time of death", "mind stream transference", or “enlightenment without meditation”.
My all beings be immersed in the Sacred Vibration of the Amitabha Mantra now and in all future lives!
Any merit from these activities is dedicated to the benefit off all sentient beings. May all sentient beings be happy and free of suffering!

I recorded this chant in my home studio and perform vocals on all 5 tracks. The voice tracks gradually vary in number to add a subtle dynamism to an otherwise monotonous piece. The steady repetition of the Mantra produces a trance affect that I hope will allow sick and dying people to comfortably rest their awareness in a sub-participatory entrainment as the sacred vibration of the Mantra is experienced. May they pass instantly into the Pure Land of Sukhavati!

My great grandma lived to 104. According to her caretaker, for the last couple years of her life, she would wakr up between 12 and 4 am, and talk to her (deceased) husband. This was especially surprising to us, as she hadn't said more than 3 words in a row in years.

Thank you for this mantra. I had to euthanize my beloved Emma Cat yesterday afternoon and before her passing, I played this Mantra that she was listening to. She passed away peacefully and prayed for a beautiful new life and always be with me in spirit. Will always Love you and will see each other in another lifetime. This Mantra is helping me cope with my mourning stage which is very hard. Thank you.

We met a poor fawn dying by the side of the road today. I moved her to the side so she could pass in peace. It has happened so many times, but my interaction today felt me with a deep sadness. I honor the passing of a life in this message.

As a hunter, I would have taken the poor thing to an animal hospital, if possible, especially if it looked like its wounds were caused by a vehicle striking it. Otherwise, say a prayer for it, and use a sharp blade on its neck to put it out of its misery, so that its last memories of life are not spent in painful suffering. Call the forestry dept of the area to report what has happened so they can properly take care of the remains. Animals struck by vehicles can live for several hours or even days before finally expiring. You do not want to let it suffer, even if in peace.

While you senselessly take lives you write about taking injured animals to hospital and putting them out of their misery! Time for you to decide either you kill or you save.lives You cant do both.. My kitty too...she is dying now. It's interesting...the closet is where my other cats have gone to birth kittens and now the oldest cat, to cross-over. I can hear the overtones in this chanting. This is such a surreal experience...she can barely walk and is so old...refuses water and food. This does seem to provide comfort.

My cat was diagnosed with cancer, she had a tumor grow on her face that was inoperable and even if we did operate, her jaw would have been removed and she would have lost more than just her jaw. It grew and grew and luckily I was able to afford her pain medication and antibiotics to slow the process but they offered her euthanization. I was battling myself if it was selfish to keep her and let her naturally go, or take the advice of a vet who said euthanizing would let me take her pain away in an instant.. however I felt that it was unfair of me to make the decision on another's life.. She stayed strong for 18 years of my life and taught me so many things like patience and compassion. I listened to this Friday, April 15th with her, she spent the day outside in the sun, laying in the grass. I knew her time was slowly coming, and the only comfort I found was knowing that soon, she will be free of pain and suffering in this life. I stayed by her side all day and at 12:00 am she passed away, right after Sri Lankan new years. I feel so much pain and loss but I know these emotions stem from how much I loved and cared for her. Ellie you are dearly loved and missed. Thank you for all the great moments and thank you for choosing to spend your life with me

Losing a beloved kitty after 18 years of companionship and life together is a great loss and you have my deep condolences. Ellie was lucky to have you as a loving and conscientious owner. Keeping her alive and comfortable after such a terrible diagnosis was a brave thing to do. May she be reborn in Sukhavati Paradise before Amitabha Buddha and receive his teachings. May all sentient beings find Dharma Blessings and Wisdom while passing through Samsara.

I just rescue a Possum from the side of the road, which had been hit by car. What a sweet little girl.. literally Love through and through. She let me doctor her up, and I had the best hopes for her recovery. Unfortunately, she passed away peacefully just within a couple of hours. 😪. Even though, I've gone through this uncountable times with my animal sanctuary... I just wanted to do a little more for her. This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much! I hope it helps her with her transfer, as it is helping me with my sadness - right now. Love to all of you🙏❤.

My 16 plus years dog will pass today either by herself or with some help … as she lies beside me we both are listening to this beautiful chant. We both need it to stay calm during this process which is heartbreaking .

Our pets want to be with us at the end. Not everyone can endure this with their animal. Loving them, being with them and sometimes helping them at the end is a powerful testimony of who you are as person. 16 years is a long time to love and care for an animal. Thank you so much. We brought him from China in late October to Thailand. It was really difficult to get him here. And he only lived less than four months here. Saddest I have been since my father died in 1972. And I have known a number of people who have died. We lived so closely my wife myself and Swissy. Dharma practice helps and I need to support my wife who is veey upset. Samsara. Bitter tears are never far away.

You are very correct about Samsara. Bitter tears are never far away. Dharma practice and philosophical views are truly the only refuge we have. The experience and contemplation of impermanence and death can turn our mind more resolutely to spiritual practice if we can rest our awareness in its reality and not hide from it. My old cat wandered away and I think she went away to die. I took her in a little over a year ago and she has never ever left since. She doesn't like cold places and it's so cold outside. I wish she had stayed with us. I already miss her so so much. I wish I were a better human to her. God bless her little soul. Mamma, my old girl, I loved you so much. I hope we'll meet again.

I'm sure she had a good reason to go away for the first and last time. I left the light on outside just in case but I don't think she will return. Not in the form of Mamma cat anyway. I hope she will have a better time in her next life.

I feel like the world is a different place without them and it saddens me greatly sometimes. Having no contact with family over the Holidays is especially painful. But I also know, these same family members would want me to live fully right now and move forward in life. And not to be so self-centered in my thinking. It's hard but things are slowly getting easier for me and I hope and pray the same for you!

My elder brother took his life 5weeks ago, the pain and sadness is unbearable. I had listened to this a couple of months ago when a couple of stray dogs passed away, I cried for days. And now the worst thing possible has happened I'll be crying forever (((( thank u for this, may it give peace to his soul forever, I love u so much, the most, I don't know how I'm gng to go on without u ((((

My years of contemplating impermanence in the context of Dharma practice have opened my heart and mind to many wonders and realities that were not recognized before my own encounters with death. My awareness of the fragile and miraculous nature of everything and an acute appreciation of the preciousness of time continues to expand in my earthly walk. This awareness can be a final gift from our loved one whose death helped create this shift in our perceptions and actions.

My father is going to leave us soon as well. He is currently in hospice care. He has declined so rapidly. I know it was not a peaceful beginning for him due to the actions of my step mother. My brother and I just want our dad to rest in pease and know that all his wishes that he has us to do will Get full filled. I hate seeing him in pain. I want him to let go and we pray that next Life, he will be with someone who loves him unconditionally and love him so much that they will shower him with everything like he has done for my step mom. My music teacher is performing original compositions in Boston soon with an instrument made of organ pipes which will be played like a gamelan. The compositions are apparently similar to Buddhist death awareness meditations and I am not familiar with death awareness meditations, but if it’s gonna be centered around stuff like this. Especially if it’s gonna be played like a gamelan then I’m very excited to see what they come up with, because the buildup to harmonies and binaural beats is really interesting to hear over and over again, but with subtle changes in the singing and how long each person holds their notes and variates the timbre of their voices. Thanks for posting this.

Very nice. I will look into these subjects later. I learned this Mantra personally from Tibetan Buddhist Rinpoches from the Kagyupa Lineage. I have also received the Amitaba Buddha empowerment from them.
