Dhondenling is a well-kept secret of Kollegal. This comes on the Kollegal - Hasanur road (not the Chamarajnagar highway). we have traveled fron sathyamangalam to hasanur and then via germalam checkpost into karnataka.Dhondeling offers great landscape views and it gives a slice of Tibetan monasteries and their culture. A nice place for a day trip. The people in Dhondenling were very helpful and showed lots of respect and gratitude towards visitors. They have very kind hearts and welcoming smiles. You enter a whole different world altogether, right from the moment you take the turn towards Dhondenling from the main road, and also we found inner peace and happiness once we entered. Kollegal Tibetian Settlement Monastery Dhondenling Odeyarpalya Ride, Karnataka Tourism. Tibetan settlement in South India is unknown to many. Tibetian Buddhist Temple standout in the green background. Buddhist Monastery has a unique feature to it. Tibetan colony in Karnataka are present in Coorg, Kollegal near Mysore, Hunsur near Mysore, and Mundgod in Uttara Karnataka. Many unknown Buddhist Monasteries in South India are available for tourists to explore. Dhondenling Tibetan settlement is located at Odeyarpalaya, Kollegal Taluk in Karanataka State, Chamrajnagar district near Karnataka - Tamil Nadu border. Located within the beautiful countryside of Karnataka state, close to the borders of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Dzogchen Monastery is surrounded by an impressive mountain range, coffee plantations, and an animal reserve. Dhondenling Tibetan settlement, Kollegala, Karnataka settlement was established in 1974 with the help of the Government of India and Karnataka State. Mysore Resettlement and Development Agency (MYRADA) extended their technical help in the construction of living quarters, settlement offices, hospitals, school buildings roads, etc. The settlement has a total area of 3000 acres

This is not near Tamil Nadu or between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka border. This settlement is very much in Karnataka. Maybe the right way title it would be Tibetan settlement in Karnataka ?

Tourist can visit this place without any issues. But they have a very strict covid protocols at this moment and they may restrict visitors due to that.
