Mas os 200 milhões de negros foi uma mentira bem cabeluda . De acordo com o Ibge é apenas 8 % . O resto e pardo , brancos , indigenas e outros .

Awww! We love her, just a correction, it is not 200 million blacks in Brasil, we don't consider indigenous black people . We are mostly mixed in Brazil, mainly a musture of white, indigenous and black. And no, she is not loved because there are non great black brazilian artists, we have lots of great black actresses! She is loved by brazilians of all coloyrs because her characters ressambles a lot our Brazilians mothers ❤️

She's loved here in Brazil because Rochelle represents the typical Brazilian mother. It's 100% NOT a racial thing. As a black Brazilian myself, I don't even care whether she's black or not. To be honest, I don't care whether I am black or not. We Brazilians tend to see ourselves as Brazilians only, not as colours. Besides, we do have lots of “positive black female images”.

Yeah of course, but Everybody Hates Chris is a show about the black experience in America in the 80s so its normal for her to assume that it connects more with black people as its the main demographic of the show in America. But in Brazil we all go through the same stuff they do, regardless of skin colour, thats why the show is way more popular in Brazil than in the US 😂

@@Dwyanerose because we have a myth of "racial democracy". Many people believe it and they thinh we don't have racism because we're mixed. People who ignore it don't care about representativity. In fact, even some black people don't care about it (my dad is black but he doesn't understand). Of course, many Brazilian people are conscious about this stuff, some people don't understand and part of them are just conservative racists, unfortunately.

Lá eles n classificam pela cor da pele e sim sua ancestralidade. Acho q aqui a minoria eh realmente branca (tipo as comunidades de origem europeia do Sul, ES e tal). O resto tem alguma gota de sangue negro e boa parte um ancestral negro conhecido até umas 5 gerações atrás.

Ela diz que apesar da grande quantidade de pessoas negras no Brasil, a "Rochele" é a uma das poucas imagens positivas que temos de mulheres negras.

Lá cor n eh questão de pele e sim de sangue. Logo até x gerações, mesmo q vc seja branco com cabelo loiro, se vc estiver nesse x gerações q descendem de um negro vc eh negro. Um exemplo eh a Mariah Carey, que no Brasil a vemos como branca, mas eh filha de negro com branca e por isso lida como negra nos EUA. Se seguirmos a lógica de lá, da pra dizer q somos literalmente um país de negros

@@MahouneArrow Mas quem disse que a lógica de la esta correta? O Brasil é uma grande mistura, ao meu ver o país mais miscigenado do mundo. Com a segunda maior população negra do mundo, atrás da Nigeria, ao mesmo tempo a terceira mais população branca do mundo, atrás da Russia e dos Us. Além disso é o país com mais japoneses fora do Japão, italianos fora da Itália, libaneses fora do Líbano, sem contar o grande número de portugueses, alemães, vizinhos da América do Sul. Os Estados Unidos também são um país miscigenado (não na mesma escala que o Brasil), ha 70 anos, a população que eles consideravam brancos por lá era em torno de 90% da populaçao, hoje ja esta abaixo de 70%, a miscigenação é algo inevitável no mundo moderno e globalizado de hoje. Por isso acho dificil dizer que uma pessoa é negra ou branca baseado em um antepessado distante. No caso da Mariah Carey que você citou, por exemplo; ela é filho de pai negro e de uma mãe branca, então, como classificar sua raça? Meio complicado não é? Não da pra tizer que ela é branca, mas também não da pra dizer se é negra.

There are not 200 million Black Brazilians. At most around 17 million blacks in Brazil and 60 million mixed people (many of them with black tons of skins). But we see race in a different perspective here in Brazil. So it is not a big deal down here. Not as leftist media want to portrait it. We ALL love Tichina, all Brazilians love her. And not for her colour but because her caracter in Everybody hates Chris looks so much like our mothers that we kind of feel represented when we see her acting. Doesn't matter her colour. She is an amazing person and an incredible actress.

We do not have 200 million blacks in Brazil today 19 million 9% of the population, most people here are white and mixed people, We love her here in Brazil for reminding us of our mothers, it has nothing to do with skin color

we do love you Tichina! you guys have NO idea how popular "Everybody Hates Chris" is over here. it's been of reruns for years and people will watch it every single time and laugh out loud. We actually relate to the characters a lot, even though they live in New York, which is so different to most brazilian cities, exactly because it's a black cast in a show about the black experience and that is lacking in Brazil (even though black people are over 56% of our population), so it's a really meaningful show for people who grew up in the 2000s like myself. Also, there's a factor that must be taken into consideration: the voice over dub is done by phenomenal actors! Our dubbing culture is very rich since the 1980s, it's an art form we are very proud of and there's a lot of quality and creativity when adapting jokes and scripts in general to portuguese, so that makes the experience even softer. There isn't a loss of jokes and funny, we get it all through a brazilian perspective. Thank you for being our mommy, Rochelle!

Actually, there's not 200 millions of BLACK people in Brazil, there's 200 millions of people IN GENERAL. The number of black people in Brazil is 15 milhons. But, in fact, she is a star here in Brazil.
