Tidal Vs Spotify - The Best Sound Quality For Audiophiles?
Regarding music streaming services, Tidal and Spotify are two of the most popular platforms. Both offer a wide range of features, sound quality, and user experience. However, the debate between Tidal vs Spotify is a hot topic among audiophiles and casual listeners.

youtube compression is so bad that this video is *almost* pointless. You can hear a subtle difference here, but the only way to know the full extent of the difference is to try it out on your own system.

I’m so out of my element here, as I’m 95% a vinyl guy, but this is very interesting, and music is music regardless of the source. What people prefer to listen to is subjective and a personal choice. Tidal seems to be airier and fuller sounding with more tonality in the lows and mids. Spotify seems a bit cleaner though and possibly good for more passive listening. I can see how these 2 services could be system dependent and have different advantages depending on what one is looking for. Thanks for the great video. 🔊😊🎶

Thank you for sharing. Vinyl is something I have to dive into one day. It's hate love relationship since 95% of vinyl systems that I heard sucked regardless of the price. But on those 5% of systems also regardless the price - even old cheap turntables sounded amazing.

I agree with others, Tidal have more texture,natural overall sound and I know that because I used both. Unfortunately the KZfaq decrease the sound of the record of the test. Thanks to owner channel for all this helpful videos keep going. George from Greece.

I have tried both services for myself and I prefer Tidal on my system. From your samples, Tidal has more detail and dynamic range. Spotify will also turn audio normalization on by default and it has a very negative effect on the audio quality. At times I felt as though I was listening to a 128kbps cbr mp3. Spotify announced they were going to offer a "HiFi" option with lossless streaming but that was 2 years ago and it's still not available. For these reasons I switched to Tidal. Same price, much better audio quality.

The samples trough you tube and my headset do not show much of fine detail because you tube has compression. I have had both, Spotify and Tidal+ and Tidal has a more refined and clean sound overall. As good as my pc flac / high res. files or even better because the notebook does not interfere with the data stream. Tidal streams direct to my DAC, great sound for the money!

Me and my son did i similar test. Streamed from the same setup. I have tidal and he has got spotify. And after listening to a few songs, we boath agreed thar tidal sounded the best. And my hp are the Hifiman arya stealth edision. Peter from Sweden!

How can we hear the difference in a crappie YT video limited audio compression? I have Tidal and YTM and had Spotify and the quality is abismal when I play out on my R7 with Klipsch nines

What are the actual role of preamps , excluding trable and bass boost and what is the difference between normal and tube preamps.

Basically they add additional voltage volume gain. Power amps output stages more often than not deliver current needed to move the heavy speakers, but the voltage gain is done elsewhere (in the preamp).So its similar to engine and transmission box in the car,

Here in Australia, Spotify’s family plan is 1 dollar more expensive than the Tidal’s plan.

Yup, and that all depends on where you have most of your music, for me I don;t use the spotify at all but YT is my spotify for more regular background listening :)

lol, you are really using youtube compression to compare tidal and spotify ? What a scam. I was looking for a video on null testing. That is simular like "hey I've made 2 low res mp3's from a cd and a 320cbr mp3, which one is best ?"
